Physical Season 1 Episode 8 Spoilers
Episode 8 is enigmatically titled ‘Let’s Not and Say We Did’ and promises to give us some very incisive glimpses into multiple characters. For one, and possibly most importantly, we will get to see Sheila’s dynamic with her wealthy estranged parents, who she has gone to after exhausting all her other options for procuring funding for her business idea and Danny’s campaign. Her husband Danny is also showing sparks of empathy and brilliance, which could mean that for once, we will see the couple united. Of course, Sheila’s frequent scathing (internal) remarks about her husband’s lecherous behavior will continue to entertain us.
Sheila’s wealthy friend Greta, too, is on a journey of self-discovery, albeit a more sexual one. After watching her husband’s fetish tape, she seems to be toying with the idea of shaving her head, and we might just see her surprise Jerry with a bald head. We will also most likely get some answers as to why John Breem suddenly seems so preoccupied, and more importantly, why he jumped into his pool in the middle of the night, fully clothed.
Physical Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
Episode 7 opens with Sheila discovering that she is, once again, flat broke. The realization comes when she gets a call from the TV station telling her that her cheque for Danny’s campaign ad has not cleared. In a bid to raise funds, she swallows her pride and reaches out to her wealthy insufferable friends Jack and Tanya, who live in Los Angeles. The fundraiser that they subsequently throw at their lavish mansion turns out to be less than successful, and both Sheila and Danny realize that their friends are unhelpful phonies who only hosted them to show off their wealth.
In a fit of panic, Sheila once again swallows her pride and lands up at her rich parents’ doorstep after not speaking to them for years. Meanwhile, Greta finally watches her husband’s fetish video, which features him shaving the heads of multiple women. Instead of being angered, she is aroused by it and later looks over at her trimmer wistfully, though we don’t get to see if she uses it or not.
The property developer John Breem — the likes of who Danny is campaigning against in his Save the Wave campaign — also seems preoccupied as he celebrates his birthday. It is suggested that he might be glum because he has just turned the age at which his father passed away. However, he insists that his somber mood is due to his preoccupation with the political campaign (against Danny) that he is funding. Neither of the two reasons explains why he subsequently jumps, fully clothed, into his swimming pool in the middle of the night, which is where we see him last.
