Sheila’s big secret might just come out in the open as we see Jerry triumphantly holding proof of her financial mismanagement in episode 8. Just as Danny and Sheila are finally getting on the same page, a monkey-wrench in the works by their stoner friend is the last thing they need. However, that’s exactly what seems to have happened. Sheila’s friends Greta and Bunny also seem to be sorting out their respective relationships, and a mystery seems to be brewing around John Breem as well. We’re getting close to the season finale, and things are beginning to really heat up. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the upcoming ‘Physical’ episode 9.
Physical Season 1 Episode 9 Release Date
‘Physical’ episode 9 will premiere on July 30, 2021, at 3 am ET on Apple TV+. The season’s first three episodes released simultaneously on June 18, 2021, with subsequent new episodes coming out every Friday. In total, the season has 10 half-hour episodes, and the season finale is set to premiere on August 6, 2021.

Physical Season 1 Episode 9 Spoilers
Episode 9 is titled ‘Let’s Face the Facts,’ and we’re quite certain that hints at Sheila’s recently discovered financial mismanagement. Since we’ve known her, Sheila has hidden the fact that she has drained her and Danny’s savings on her uncontrollable junk-food binges. Now, it seems like all her secrets are out in the open and plain for Danny to see. The upcoming episode will likely be a pivotal one for their relationship, and a lot will depend on her husband’s reaction to Sheila’s lies.
Sheila’s aerobics tapes have also been on hold since she’s been in Los Angeles, and now that she’s back home, we can expect her to move forward with her plan. She also has the hefty cheque from her parents, which will help her get things rolling and mass-produce her tapes so she can really start selling them. We can therefore expect to see more of her “business partners” Bunny and Tyler in the upcoming episode.
Physical Season 1 Episode 8 Recap
Episode 8 opens with John Breem being saved from drowning in his pool by his wife. Despite her concern, he remains distant and later watches her as she exercises to one of Sheila’s aerobics tapes. We then see Sheila’s tense encounter with her parents, where she makes a deal to let them see their granddaughter in exchange for $5000. They give her the money, but she reneges on the deal and instead smashes things in their house before driving away with Danny.
It is revealed in this episode that Sheila had cut ties with her parents because she was molested by her father’s college friend when she was 13 and that her parents refuse to acknowledge that it happened. In the closing scenes of the episode, Jerry confronts Sheila after finding the two separate financial ledgers she keeps— the one she shares with them and the other secret one where she records all the money she has spent on her junk-food eating binges.
