Will There be a Quantico Season 4?

Quantico, for those who don’t know, is a place in Virginia where FBI Academy is based out of. That’s where the show, ‘Quantico’ derives its name from. A drama thriller that started airing from September, 2015, on ABC, ‘Quantico’ starred Indian Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra in the lead.

The series was created by Joshua Safran, who also served as the showrunner. Mark Gordon, Robert Sertner, Nicholas Pepper and Safran are its executive producers. ‘Quantico’ opened to positive responses from both the critics and audiences. They praised Priyanka Chopra’s performance, which ultimately elevated her to one of the most recognized names in the industry. The series was nominated for four People’s Choice Awards, with Chopra winning two: Favorite Actress in a New TV Series in 2016—making her the first South Asian to win a People’s Choice Award—and Favorite Dramatic TV Actress in 2017.

The show has had 3 successful seasons so far. Now the question is, will there be a ‘Quantico’ season 4? We will delve into that question, but first let’s quickly look into the details of the series.

Quantico Plot: What’s it about?

Quantico’s storyline revolves around Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra), a super bright and talented FBI recruit who joins the agency after graduating from the FBI Academy but soon becomes a prime suspect of a terrorist attack on Grand Central Terminal. Quantico started with two timelines: the first being the present where Alex sets herself free from captivity and tries to prove her innocence. The second timeline being the past, where she is shown training with her fellow recruits at the FBI academy. We also learn about other characters during her training. The series switched to a single timeline from the middle of the second season onwards.

Quantico Cast: Who’s in it?

The main cast of the show is led by Priyanka Chopra as Alex Parrish, a promising FBI agent who becomes a prime suspect of the Grand Central bombing case. Josh Hopkins plays Liam O’Connor, a seasoned FBI agent. Jake McLaughlin stars as Ryan Booth, an undercover FBI agent who is handed over the task to track Alex.

Aunjanue Ellis plays Miranda Shaw, former assistant director of the FBI Academy at Quantico. Graham Rogers as Caleb Haas, a former FBI agent. Yasmine Al Massri as Nimah and Raina Amin, twins recruited by Miranda for the FBI. Johanna Braddy as Shelby Wyatt, Alex’s best friend and fellow FBI agent. Tate Ellington as Simon Asher, Alex’s fellow FBI trainee.

Academy Award-winning actress Marlee Matlin joined the cast of Quantico for season 3. She stars as an ex-FBI agent Jocelyn Turner. Turner was rendered deaf from an explosion in her early career and is brought back to the FBI for a special investigation.

Qunatico Season 4 Release Date: Renewed or Canceled?

Unfortunately, we will not see a Quantico season 4. ABC cancelled the show on May 11, 2018.

While Season 1 got off to a good start and steady ratings, Season 2 and Season 3 didn’t receive the same response. The show always had its admirers, but the truth is it didn’t have much to say in terms of story after the first Season ended. Created by Joshua Safran, the ABC terrorism drama was a good acting showcase for Priyanka Chopra who since the premiere of the show has bagged several movie deals. Clearly, she too understands the value that the show brought to her Hollywood career. She took to Twitter to say this about the show on eve of series finale:

“As the season ends, I am saying goodbye to Alex Parrish. As you’ll see, her story will come full circle…and that is the best feeling as an actor. Bringing Alex to life has challenged me physically and emotionally, but even more significant it has (I hope) cracked the door open for female talent and women of color to play leading ladies. Thank you for opening your homes and hearts to me every week! Thank you to the cast and crew of #Quantico for being such an amazing team to work with, for all the memories that I will cherish…memories of laughter, of learning new things, of making friends for life. It was a pleasure working with each and every one of you, and I look forward to crossing paths again!”
