Rainn Wilson was born on January 20, 1966. He is an American actor-comedian, writer, director, producer and entrepreneur. Wilson first made her appearance onscreen in 1997 in one of the episodes of the soap opera One Life to Live, followed by a supporting role in the television movie The Expendables premiered in 2010. Wilson made his movie debut in Galaxy Quest released in 1999 followed by a brief supporting role in Almost Famous (2000) produced by Cameron Crowe. In 2002, he appeared in a lead role in the horror film House of 1000 Corpses (2003) produced by Rob Zombie.

In 2017, Wilson provided his voice for the character of Gargamel in the animated reboot of The Smurfs: The Lost Village in 2017 for Sony Pictures Animation. Rainn Wilson was also cast to play the character of Harry Mudd in Star Trek: Discovery released in 2017.
