Hulu’s comedy-drama series ‘Ramy’ garnered critical acclaim for its witty humor, compassionate writing, multi-faceted characters, and for touching upon themes like spirituality, religious faith, and millennial ennui, upon its premiere on April 19, 2019. The show is loosely based on the life of American-Egyptian comedian, Ramy Youssef, who also serves as the creator, writer, producer, and lead actor of the show.

Ramy Season 2 Release Date and Time
Following the massive success of the first season, the network renewed the comedy series for a second season on May 1, 2019. ‘Ramy’ season 2 is all set to release in its entirety on May 29, 2020, at 3 am ET, on Hulu. It will consist of ten episodes with a runtime of 23–31 minutes each.

Ramy Youssef headlines the cast as a millennial American Muslim, Ramy Hassan. American-Palestinian comedian Mohammed Amer appears as Mo, while French actor Hiam Abbass plays the role of Maysa Hassan. May Calamawy stars as Ramy’s sister Dena Hassan. Laith Nakli appears as the boisterous and funny, Uncle Naseem.
The cast also includes Stephen Way as Stevie, Dave Merheje as Ahmed, Amr Waked as Farouk Hassan, Rosaline Elbay as Amani, Shadi Alfons as Shadi, and Kate Miller as Vivian. Ramy Season 2 Plot: What can it be About?
Season 1 showcases the misadventures of a nearly 30-year-old millennial, Ramy, who embarks upon a journey to self-discovery, while also trying to explore his Muslim faith in a progressive society. Towards the end, Ramy sets out to meet his grandfather in Cairo to learn more about his religion. A few moments after meeting with Ramy, his grandfather passes away. At the funeral of his grandfather, he bumps into his cousin, Amani, and the two develop an instant romantic connection.
In season 2, we can expect Ramy to continue his spiritual journey, to strike a balance between his personal life and religious values. But this time, he will have the support of a brutally honest spiritual mentor, Sheikh. Ramy and Sheikh might develop a unique friendship, and under his spiritual guidance, Ramy might try to achieve social and religious equilibrium. The second season might shed light on themes like gender identity, PTSD, premarital sex, incest relationships, and prejudice against black Muslims.
