When Will See Season 2 Premiere on Apple+?

‘See’ is a fantasy series that forms a part of Apple’s ambitious slate of lanched titles, including ‘The Morning Show‘ and ‘For All Mankind’. Written by Steven Knight and directed by Francis Lawrence, this science-fiction drama introduces us to a world, set in the far future where humans have lost the ability to see. The dystopic show follows a tight-knit clan who bands together to save two twin babies, born in their society, who have, after eons, been gifted with the power of sight — hence, setting a path that could alter the course of destiny.

Apple’s action-packed original content premiered with its first season in November 2019. As the series drew to an end, fans are desperate to know if the title will be renewed for another installment. So, will there be a ‘See’ season 2? Let’s find out.

See Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘See’ season 1 premiered on November 1, 2019, on Apple TV+. Three episodes were released simultaneously on the same day, with the rest of the five episodes following a weekly schedule, finally wrapping up with its eighth episode on December 6, 2019.

Now as far as a second season goes, on November 7, 2019, Apple announced that the series had been recommissioned for another season, consisting of eight new episodes. However, this announcement did not come as much of a surprise because reportedly, the second part was ordered even before season 1 started airing.

We do not have an update on its release schedule yet. But considering that fact that streaming networks generally release original content on an annual basis, we can expect Apple to follow a similar policy. So if things go as planned, we can expect ‘See’ season 2 to premiere sometime in November 2020. We can also safely assume that it will follow a similar release pattern like season 1, airing episodes in parts, rather than making the whole season available at one go.

See Cast: Who’s in it?

Jason Momoa‘ of ‘Game of Thrones‘ and ‘Frontier‘ fame stars as Baba Voss, leader of the Alkenny tribe. Alfre Woodard plays the role of Paris, Alkenny’s wise elderly member. Sylvia Hoeks is Queen Kane, who rules the Payan Kingdom.

Hera Hilmar is Maghra, Baba Voss’ wife and a recent entrant to the Alkenny clan. Maghra gives birth to the twins Kofun and Haniwa. Christian Camargo stars as Tamacti Jun, the ruthless Witchfinder General, who leads Queen Kane’s army.

Archie Madekwe plays Kofun while Nesta Cooper portrays Haniwa. Both Kofun and Haniwa are blessed with the ability to see. Yadira Guevara-Prip stars as Bow Lion, an Alkenny warrior who can move without being detected.

All of the lead cast members are expected to reprise their original roles in season 2.

See Plot: What’s it about?

This action-adventure drama is set in the far future when the human race has been stripped of its power of sight. No one cay say why this happened but according to believers, it was nature’s way of bringing the world to heal. Humans have now evolved in different ways to cope without this ability and have found new methods to communicate, hunt, and survive. However, after generations, in an unexpected turn of events, a pair of twins are born to the wife of a warrior and chieftain of Alkenny Village’s Baba Voss. The surprising part is, both these babies can see.

While some believe that the infants are a boon, who would finally lead the future of the world toward a new destiny, others hold conflicting ideas. When word reaches the ears of Queen Kane of the Payan Kingdom, she vows to capture the twins and save the planet. Meanwhile, Voss takes matters into his own hands and bands together with his tribe to protect his children at all costs from the cruel ruler and her army.

Toward the end of season 1, Maghra and Queen Kane are able to control the Witchfinder army and they reveal that Tamacti Jun had killed himself because he was unable to bear his shame. Kofun and Haniwa are welcomed at the House of Enlightenment by Jerlamarel, who later betrays them and decides to give Haniwa to a general. Baba Voss arrives at the right moment and saves Kofun, leaving Jerlamarel blind. On the other hand, we learn that Tamacti Jun is alive and is all prepared to have his revenge on Maghra and Queen Kane.

Season 2 is expected to pick up the story from here and follow Baba Voss as he confronts Edo and tries to keep Haniwa safe. Maghra, now in the Payan Kingdom, might have to face discontent from the state’s inhabitants as Tamacti Jun is alive. There might also be a reunion between Baba Voss’ clan and Maghra’s army.
