How did Shawn Wayans earn his money and wealth?
Shawn Wayans was born on January 19, 1971. He is an American actor, producer, DJ, comedian and writer who featured in The Wayans Bros., In Living Color, and White Chicks. He is the brother of Keenen Ivory, Elvira, Damon Sr., Marlon, Kim, and Ebony R. Hemphill-Wayans.
When ‘In Living Color’ aired on Fox, he started as DJ SW-1 and later became a featured actor, working with his siblings. Along with his brother Marlon, Shawn Wayans created and featured in the sitcom The Wayans Bros. (The WB, 1995–99) and co-wrote, produced and featured in the feature ‘Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood’ (1996), in which Keenen also starred. Wayans was guest- invited on episodes of Mac Gyver and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper and delivered the voice of Toof for the animated series of children called Wayne head.
After a supporting role in the gang drama New Blood released in 1999, Wayans’ film riches increased intensely when he co-featured with his brother Marlon in a hit film directed and produced by their elder brother Keenan: Scary Movie (1999–2000), a movie which is a comic sarcasm on the then-recent trend of horror films like Scream.
Wayans played the seemingly cloistered Ray Wilkins, a role he reenacted for the similarly prevalent 2001 sequel Scary Movie 2. To date, Wayans has not had any involvement with following sequels. He and Marlon featured in the movie directed by Kennan, a comedy flick called White Chicks released in 2004, playing a role of FBI agents enforced to deception as a pair of spoiled white blonde heiresses. Shawn also earned the credit for a share of story and screenplay on the film. Wayans partnered with his brothers Marlon and Keenen once again for the comedy ‘Little Man’ released in 2006, in which Wayans not only acted but also co-wrote and produced the movie.
Shawn Wayans is also the main force behind the series, Thugaboo, series of children’s television specials that started in 2006. The specials effort to link essential life lessons to children through humor and music. “The shows deal with universal themes and issues that kids are facing today,” Wayans says. “We try to deal with them through humor. Then, at the end of each episode, we wrap it up with a little song about what it is that they just learned from that episode.” He is married to Angelica Zackary. Shawn Wayans has three children.
