Marquis Amonte King is the stage name of Shy Glizzy who was born on December 12, 1992, in Washington, D.C, United States. He is a 25-year-old American rapper. He organized a group called ‘Glizzy Gang’ when he was a teenager. All his gang members have ‘Glizzy’ at the end of their names. Despite his age, he had to face numerous troubles which reflect upon his song lyrics. He had a very rough childhood and growing up and spent more time in troubles than in school.

In the year 2012, he released a series of mixtapes which includes ‘Shy Glizzy’s Law’ and ‘Fxck Rap’ which was later described as “Appealing Eager Tape”. The following year Glizzy released his mixtape ‘Law 2’, a sequel to Law 1. His debut mixtape was called ‘No Brainer’. The fourteen track project features Migos, Kevin Gates, Yo Gotti, Starlito and many more. Another mixtape issued by him was called the ‘Young Jefe’, in the year 2014, which had 18 track tape and was hosted by DJ Bigga Rankin along with Zaytoven, Roger beat as feature producers.

Shy Glizzy was also chosen by XXL Magazine Freshmen list. In the same year, he released two banger songs, ‘White Girl’ and ‘Awwsome’. The hit single “Awwsome” turned out to be the biggest song of his career and reached among Top 45 on the Billboard Hot 100. The remix of Awwsome featuring ‘2 Chainz’ and ‘A$AP Rocky’ was also made in October 2014. He changed his name to Jefe for the extended play record “The World is yours” which was released in January 2017. Soon after a comeback on the scene with “Free the Gang” and “Awwsome”, rapper Shy Glizzy had a street fight with Fat Trel in Washington DC.

In 2016, he ended his longtime quarrel and made a collaboration with him and released a single ‘Checklist’. He has worked with record labels like 300 Entertainment, Atlantic Records, Glizzy Gang. Few notable tracks are called “Stoner Freestyle”, “3 Milli”, “Guns and Roses” and “No Lie”. Glizzy was once arrested in Downtown Silver Spring in Maryland, by Montgomery County Police. Glizzy forcibly restrained against the bonnet of a car by the police when they checked his pockets. After Handcuffing the Rapper, the police put him in the back of a car. The five charges for which he was arrested are rebellious conduct, denies obeying a reasonable and lawful order, blocking and opposing, count of riots and count of resisting arrest. While in prison, Shy earned his GED.

He is seen in the music video “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” released in 2017. Glizzy also earned a nomination for Gold Link’s “Crew” in Best Rap/ Sung Performance this year in Grammy Awards.
