How did Sia earn her money and wealth?
Sia Kate Isobelle Furler was born on 18th December 1975 in Adelaide, South Australia. She went to Adelaide High School. In 1990, Sia started her career as a singer in a jazz band, Crisp. Sia released her debut album, OnlySee, in 1997 when the band was disbanded. Later she moved to London and there she performed as a vocalist in the British band Jamiroquai. In 2000, Sia released her first single “Taken for Granted” under the label or Dance Pool (a sub-label of Sony Music. The song peaked at No. 10 on UK Singles Chart. Sia also gave vocals to downtempo group Zero 7. In 2001, Zero 7 released the album Simple Things in which Sia provided vocals to two tracks, ‘Destiny’ and ‘Distractions’, and both were successful. The album charted at No. 26 on Billboard 200 and peaked No. 41 in Australia. The album had four singles in which “ Day Too Soon” was the lead single. The second single from the album “The Girl You Lost to Cocaine” peaked No.8 in US Dance Club Songs.
The following year, Sia released a DVD, TV Is My Parent, which won ARIA Music Awards 2009 for Best Music DVD category. The same year, she co-wrote ballads in Christina Aguilera ‘s album Bionic. The next year she co-wrote “Bound to You” in the film Burlesque. Later in the year, she released her fifth studio album We Are Born. After the success of We Are Born, she retired as a recording artist to become a songwriter. She wrote “Titanium” for Alicia Keys. But it was later sent to David Guetta and the song peaked top ten of record charts in the USA.
Sia released the soundtrack of American film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in the year 2013 featuring The Weekend and Diplo. The next year she produced Brooke Candy’s debut EP, Opulence. Later in the year, she released her 6th Studio album 1000 Forms of Fear which debut No. 1 in the US Billboard 200. By 2016 the album had sold 1 million copies worldwide. In 2015, she collaborated with composer J. Ralph on the soundtrack of the environmental documentary Racing Extinction in which she co-wrote and sang the song “One Candle”. The other two songs from the album “Bird Set Free” and “One Million Bullets” were released soon. “Cheap Thrills” and “ Reaper” were the singles released for the album. “Cheap Thrills” featuring Sean Paul reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The following year, she gave a performance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival which was one of the greatest moments in Coachella’s last 17-year history. Her performance went viral online. Later in the year, she gave a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Colorado which featured Ziegler. In 2017 CR moved to Atlantic Records from RCA and her new album Everyday Is Christmas released on 17th November 2017.
