‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is intended to be the sequel to ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ released in 2017 and the twenty-third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Jon Watts, and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Cast

Tom Holland will be reprising his role as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. The movie will star Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes / Vulture, Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck / Mysterio. Additionally, Jacob Batalon and Hemky Madera reprise their roles as Parker’s best friend Ned and Mr. Delmar, the owner of a local bodega, respectively. According to media reports, J. B. Smoove has been cast in an undisclosed role.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Plot

The premise of the movie is being kept under tight wraps to the extent that the title of the movie was revealed only recently by actor Tom Holland at an event where he refused to reveal anything else. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently shed a tiny little bit of information about the movie, noting that it takes place during the summer and Peter is on a holiday with friends in Europe. It’s definitely too early to guess at the plot of the sequel, although at least now we know one likely villain will be Mysterio, who has a history of using illusions to frame Spider-Man for crimes he hasn’t committed.

What we do know for sure is that the film will be heavily influenced by the latest Avengers movie. ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’ will begin after the conclusion of the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ sequel. Feige has hinted that it will bring the stories of some of Marvel’s biggest heroes to a close, and Holland will be there to “hold your hand and lead you into the next incarnation of the MCU”.

The film has been confirmed as a “global” story, and will be shooting in London as well as other undisclosed locations. Marvel has also confirmed that the second Spider-Man, Miles Morales, is out there somewhere in the MCU, though it might be too far flung to expect that he might have a role in ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’.
