Spirit Chronicles Episode 2: What to Expect?

Based on a Japanese light novel series written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv, ‘Seirei Gensouki’ or ‘Spirit Chronicles’ is an isekai fantasy TV anime. The story revolves around Rio, who wakes up with the memories of Haruto Amakawa from Japan one day. He recalls every moment of Haruto’s life, including his death in a horrible vehicular accident. But his own memories are there as well, and the two vastly different personalities eventually find a way to co-exist. Rio, who has spent almost his entire life in the slums, draws the attention of the people belonging to the upper tiers of society after he rescues a princess of the Beltram Kingdom.

Spirit Chronicles Episode 2 Release Date

‘Spirit Chronicles’ episode 2, titled ‘Royal Academy,’ is set to release on July 13, 2021, in Japan. The episode will be available at various times on TV Tokyo, BS Fuji, and AT-X. Studio TMS Entertainment produced the series, with Osamu Yamasaki helming the directorial team. Yamasaki collaborated on the script with Megumu Sasano, Mitsutaka Hirota, and Yoshiko Nakamura. Kyouko Yufu designed the characters, and Yasuyuki Yamazaki provided the music. Marika Kouno sang the opening theme track, “New Story,” while Aguri Oonishi sang the ending theme track, “Elder Flower.”

Spirit Chronicles Episode 2 Spoilers

In the series premiere, a young Haruto tells Miharu that he will marry her when they grow up before parting ways. However, he dies in a vehicular accident before ever getting to see her again. He subsequently wakes up in an alternate world as Rio and struggles to understand who he really is as memories that Rio has made are also there in his mind. He meets Celia, who shows him incredible kindness. He learns from her that she and her companions are looking for someone.

Rio later gets attacked by an assassin but fends him off with the advice of a spirit who suddenly appears before him. He finds the girl that Celia has been looking for, but when he tries to get her to safety, Celia and her companions find him, and he is told that he has to visit the palace to clarify what happened. It is revealed that the girl is actually Princess Flora, and she was abducted. However, at the palace, Charles Arbor, the vice-captain of the royal guard, tortures him to hide their own incompetence. When Flora wakes up, she immediately arranges Rio’s release, and Celia heals his injuries.

The episode ends as Rio appears before the King and Queen of the Beltram Kingdom. In episode 2, to express his gratitude for saving his daughter, the King might sponsor Rio’s education at the Bertram Kingdom Royal Institute. There, Rio might face racism from other students for his black hair and immigrant roots.
