Spirit Chronicles Episode 4 Spoilers

In episode 3, Rio continues to be bullied by Alphonse and his friends. He realizes that he has some form of power, but it’s fundamentally different from the magic that the others in the kingdom have. Flora has joined the class and wants to thank Rio for saving her life, but she doesn’t know how to go about it. During an outdoor drill, Rio is placed in the same team as Flora, Christina, Alphonse, and Alphonse’s friend Stewart. Rio is forced to carry the luggage of the team. Stewart reveals that he has acquired a map of the area from the soldiers that serve in his home region. He and Alphonse propose that they should use a shortcut shown on the map and win the drill.

The group is first attacked by a hoard of goblins, whom the young students easily defeat. Reiss, who has been secretly following the students, decides to test Rio and sends a hoard of orcs. Stewart gets injured and becomes so terrified that he inadvertently pushes Flora off a cliff. Rio jumps off after her and saves her with his powers. The rest of the students manage to take down the orcs and decide to leave, much to Flora’s chagrin. She wants to go back and look for Rio as he fell into the cliff while saving her. Suddenly, a colossal minotaur appears, and the students flee. When it is about to attack Flora, Rio intervenes and kills it. Surprised by his findings, Reiss wonders why a child of the immigrants has the ability to use spirit arts.

All the blames for the disastrous drill are placed on Rio. He meets Celia one last time before leaving for the Yagumo region, the home of his parents. In the post-credits scene, Stewart’s father sends the fox beastkin Latifa to kill Rio. Episode 4 will likely revolve around Latifa and the horrors she endured at the Huguenot household. It might be revealed that, like Rio, she is also a reincarnation.
