‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ was technically canceled in 2013, but the show remains well-loved among the fans. Many of the abandoned stories were told through other mediums, but now, Season 7 is back with a bang. Notably, this marks the final season of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’.
The show finds the right footing from the season premiere itself, which must leave you wondering about what goes down in this episode. We are here to tell you that and walk you through when and where to watch the upcoming episode.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 2 Release Date: When Will It Premiere?
‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Season 7 Episode 2 is slated to release on Friday, February 28, 2020, at 12 am PT or 2 am CT or 3 am ET. Being a Disney+ series, each new episode will drop with weekly intervals, much like ‘The Mandalorian‘.
Where to Watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 2 Online?
‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ is a Disney+ series, so the only way you can see it is on the streaming platform. You can get the pack for $6.99 a month, or $69.99 a year. You can also bundle the Disney+ pack with Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month.
Disney+ does offer a week-long trial period, but since the platform releases episodes weekly, a free trial period does not really help users in binge-watching the show they want to see.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 2 Spoilers:
The upcoming episode of the series is titled “A Distant Echo”. The synopsis reads “Believing that MIA soldier Echo may still be alive, Rex’s mission becomes doubly important. Alongside Bad Batch and Anakin Skywalker, the clone captain launches a dangerous covert rescue.”
Now, the synopsis has been available for quite some time, but now we have some spoilers to go along with it. Since rescuing Echo is an integral point in the first episode, the upcoming episode might explore how Echo is alive, but under the control of the Separatists. We know that he is fitted with cybernetic implants, allowing Separatists to hack his brain and figure out the strategies of the Republic.
While this is ironic because the Separatists are controlled by the same person who also controls the Republic, it proves that the war is very real for those who are fighting it, even though the outcome has been planned beforehand. We know that Season 7 has been broken up into a trio of four-episode arcs. Thus the upcoming episode will see the recently introduced Clone Force 99.
Undoubtedly, we will get to know more about them as well, including Wrecker and Crosshair, who provide comic relief. We might also gain more insight into the slight rivalry which exists between Rex and his newfound teammates.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 1 Recap:
‘The Bad Batch’ starts with the war almost reaching an end, while the Republic’s army struggles to fight an enemy that can predict every move. The episode soon introduces the titular Bad Batch, or Clone Force 99, which is a set of clones that are more dependent and genetically diverse than what we are used to.
Apart from introducing us to Clone Force 99, we also learn that Clonetrooper Echo may be alive. The soldier is probably being held by Separatists. Since the saga of the Domino Squad has been one of the most important arcs of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, it is refreshing to see how the new season tries to continue the story of the remaining Domino Squad member, along with a possible redemption narrative. As we head towards the eventual Siege of Mandalore, the last season has managed to get off to a strong start.
