When it comes to holiday-themed shows, Netflix never ceases to awe us! One such project from the streamer is ‘Sugar Rush Christmas’, a baking competition, specially created to raise our festive spirits. The show had originally dropped in November 2019 and opened to good reviews — because of its feel-good premise. This extension of the equally beloved ‘Sugar Rush’ franchise then released its second edition in November 2020. Now that season 2 has wrapped up, let us check out the details of its third outing.
Sugar Rush Christmas Season 3 Release Date:
‘Sugar Rush Christmas’ season 2 premiered on November 27, 2020, on Netflix, in all its entirety of six episodes. Over the last two seasons, the show has become a holiday staple on the streaming giant. As the streamer continues to increase its collection of warm unscripted offerings, we have no reason to doubt that this particular show will return once again next year. If given a go-ahead soon, we can expect ‘Sugar Rush Christmas’ season 3 to premiere sometime in November 2021.
Sugar Rush Christmas Season 3 Host And Judges
‘Sugar Rush Christmas’ is hosted by Hunter March, who is also expected to make a comeback for season 3. The television host, actor, and producer, also serves as the presenter of the original ‘Sugar Rush’ series and ‘Emogenius’ on Game Show Network. Joining March are Candace Nelson and Adriano Zumbo as the judges. Nelson is a pastry chef, who appears on the judging panel of ‘Cupcake Wars’. On the other hand, Zumbo is an Australian patisserie, who had served as a regular guest judge in ‘MasterChef Australia’. He is also known for presenting his own show, ‘Zumbo’s Just Desserts’. Season 3 is expected to mark the return of both Nelson and Zumbo as the permanent judges.
Each episode additionally sees a surprise guest judge. In season 2, we meet celebrities such as Adam Rippon, Chris Bosh, Valerie Gordon, Sasha Pieterse, Jordin Sparks, and Abigail Breslin. The third edition will see a fresh batch of renowned celebs making special appearances over the episodes.
What Can Sugar Rush Christmas Season 3 be About?
Each episode of ‘Sugar Rush Christmas’ witnesses four teams of expert bakers (two contestants in one team), partaking in three festival-themed baking challenges: cakes, cupcakes, and confections. After the first round, one team is eliminated and the remaining three proceed to the second round. The last-remaining, two teams compete in the last and third round. The judging panel then decides which creation is the best and the winner takes home a cash prize of $10,000. The format for the show has remained unchanged over the last two seasons. Therefore, we expect it to follow the same structure in season 3 as well.
