‘The Masked Singer‘ is not just about how good the performers are when it comes to singing. It is also about how energetic their performances are. While performers like White Tiger have not been too strong vocally, they’ve made it through, based on their sheer energy. In Group C, one performer who is ahead by miles, in this department, is T-Rex.
With immense vigor in appearance, and performance, T-Rex has got us all talking. In fact, most of us also agree on who T-Rex actually is. Curious to know? Read the clues and guesses here.
Clues about T-Rex:
T-Rex enters to Kesha’s “Dinosaur”. The performer is rather short, and not as intimidating as the outfit suggests. T-Rex sits on a baby, squashing it, and we notice ‘north’ and ‘west’ circled on a napkin. The participant lets us know that she was discovered, and sent to T-Rex island, where she was “pirouetting the land” with like-minded people.
We see several dinosaurs in plastic bubbles. We also see a golden ‘U’ balloon, and T-Rex says that a cataclysmic event has changed the performer’s life forever. T-Rex performs “So What” by P!nk. You can check out the clue package below to see if anything jumps out at you.
Guesses about T-Rex:
Most netizens seem to agree that only JoJo Siwa could be behind the T-Rex mask. When T-Rex sits on the baby, it implies that JoJo’s journey started when she was young. The ‘N’ and ‘W’ being circled obviously refers to North West, Kim Kardashian’s daughter.
Siwa is not only close to North West, but has also appeared in ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians‘. When T-Rex talks about being discovered, it is likely to refer to JoJo being discovered on ‘Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition’. The reference to pirouetting and being among similar creatures refers to her time on this dance show, and subsequently, ‘Dance Moms‘.
The golden ‘U’ probably refers to the fame that JoJo enjoys as a YouTuber. Fans also picked up on some obvious similarities, be it in the energy of the performance, or her voice. While most netizens have not looked beyond Siwa, some have stated that Liza Koshy could be the T-Rex. After all, she is famous for her brand of comedy and is a YouTuber herself. Many fans also compared T-Rex’s confidence to Koshy’s, noting that the Vine star might have chosen the outfit, as Vine became ‘extinct’ in 2017.
Another guess that is way out there, is that Tori Kelly could be T-Rex. It has been pointed out that Kelly canceled a tour right before Season 3 of ‘The Masked Singer’ started taping, which could mean she is a part of the show. Moreover, Kelly also showed up for the opening of Jurassic World — The Ride, at Universal Studios last year. Many have taken it to mean that she is a dino enthusiast, which could explain the outfit.
However, both Kelly and Koshy seem to be afterthoughts, when it comes to guesses about T-Rex’s identity. This happens to be one of the few cases where all online sleuths have come to the shared conclusion that JoJo is the one wearing the mask. We are inclined to agree, of course, but ‘The Masked Singer’ has been known to throw curveballs now and then.
