Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 2 Spoilers

‘Ted Lasso’ season 2 episode 2 is enigmatically titled ‘Lavender’ and could refer to the flower’s calming scent. It’s possible Ted or some other member of the club uses the smell to help the team players. It seems like this season is focused on therapy, and the story could extend to include therapeutics. Admittedly, it would be quite funny to see the team of professional football players show up smelling of delicate lavender.

The upcoming episode will also likely see Ted grapple with the team’s shifting loyalties towards the therapist Dr. Sharon. We could see him confronting her directly, which would be an interesting showdown considering how good both of them are at their specific jobs but also that they don’t seem to fully understand the other’s role in the club (especially Ted).

Lastly, as we see near the end of episode 1, Jamie Tartt is back and annoying Roy even from afar by appearing on TV. We will likely see Tartt continue to entertain (and frustrate) everyone with his impossibly vain attitude. Despite his behavior, there is no doubt that AFC Richmond could use his talent, and we might see him come back and join his old team. Of course, he could also remain with Manchester City and continue to play and score goals against AFC Richmond.

Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

Season 2 episode 1 opens with the tragic death of the AFC Richmond mascot, a greyhound, when he accidentally runs into Dani Rojas’ penalty kick. The football star is shattered and requires a therapist to work through his sorrow. The therapist, Dr. Sharon, turns out to be especially sharp and exceedingly good at counseling the players, leading to the rest of the team wanting to speak to her as well. This doesn’t sit well with Ted, who seems skeptical about counseling in general. He shows hints of jealousy, too, as he has so far prided himself on understanding his players’ emotional needs.

Roy Kent, who has retired from professional football, spends his time coaching an under-9 girls’ football team. He brings his signature fiery passion to the job and hilariously talks to his team of children as if they were grown-ups. However, it seems to work as his team is immensely loyal to him. His girlfriend Keeley also eggs him on to take up a position as a sports commentator, which he vehemently refuses to do. It is hinted that something embarrassing happened during Roy’s retirement speech, which might be why he wants to remain out of the public eye.
