The Bachelorette Season 17 Episode 9 Recap
The ninth episode of ‘The Bachelorette’ season 17 started with Blake taking Katie on a date to his hometown, where she met his curious mother, who was determined to know how serious Katie is about the whole thing. His sister was skeptical about their relationship, mostly because Blake had been in love multiple times before. His mother finally gave him the green signal and advised him to confess before it was too late. However, Blake refrained from uttering the three magic words during his final meeting with Katie.
Next came Justin, who was ready to prove his love for Katie, but his family refused to be onboard with a dating process as such. Therefore, his two best friends showed up instead pleased with the way things have evolved between Katie and Justin. He also let her know that he is falling in love with her and will not hold himself back at any cost.
The third date was with Greg, and representing him were his mother Sandy, brother Joe, and friend Dave. Ever since his father died, Greg has been miserable mentally, and Katie’s presence has somehow filled a void in his life. Greg also revealed that he is falling in love with her, but Katie is saving her “I love you” for the last day of the season. When she tried to convey that, Greg ended up feeling dejected and disappointed.
Later, Greg confronted Katie for having dismissed his confession, and Katie apologized for appearing that way when in reality, she was just trying to look before leaping. As things got serious, Greg finally realized that he couldn’t bear the thought of him being just an option for her. All he wants is someone who could love him with no holds barred, and Katie is not someone who could give him that, so he decided to quit. Katie was left heartbroken, and in the end, she told Kaitlyn that she wanted to go home.
