The Chi Season 4 Episode 9 Recap

The ninth episode of ‘The Chi’ season 4 is titled ‘Space Jam.’ It kicks off with Papa and Kevin shutting themselves away from the rest of the world to get over their respective exes. Mayor Douda wants to be an active part of Trig’s family, but he is unwilling to give away the reins to someone as secretive as the mayor. Marcus walks in on the conversation and explodes over Chicago losing the Olympics bid. He never imagined Douda to be a corrupt politician drunk on power.

Trig tries to convince him to be the mayor of the people and not just the Black community. Douda instead invites Trig into the administration. Emmett goes to meet one of his exes, Shay, to talk about his relationship with Tiff. Although he has been making efforts, Tiff still has trust issues. Shay advises him to give it some time until Tiff is ready to commit. Trig hands over his G-wagon to Jake, who could now take Jemma to the Spring Fling, but the first thing he does is check on Kevin.

Trig and Marcus take pictures of Jemma and Jake before the dance just when Douda arrives, hoping to see them off. Kevin and Lynae go to the dance together as friends. The latter appreciates how safe Kevin makes her feel. Marcus comes back again to set his records straight with Douda, but the feisty mayor, in the end, attacks him and lets him die in his misery. Jake suddenly shows up at Jemma’s place and is shocked to see his brother along with Douda beside Marcus’ dead body. Jake decides to keep it a secret from Jemma.
