The Curse of Oak Island Season 7 Episode 15 Recap:
‘Surely Templar’, as this episode is titled, begins with the team questioning the involvement of Daniel McGinnis and his investigation of the depression near the oak tree in 1795. The team believes he was looking for something, and the Templar theory comes back into the spotlight. All the members are convinced they are linked to the 200-year-old mystery.
Their search leads them to Sir William Alexander, a Freemason. Naturally, this grabs everybody’s attention as the Freemasons seem to be inextricably linked to the history and stories surrounding Oak Island. The team members are also seen searching the McGinnis Foundation, which is actually off-limits, as per the Nova Scotia provincial government.
Back at Smith’s Cove, it appears that the team has come across something that seems like a tunnel. They believe it is part of a flood tunnel. The discovery of coconut fiber, which could be used to booby trap the tunnels, and a pike pole, which might have come from a ship, excites everybody. It appears as though the team is closing in, on several mysteries that are on Oak Island.
However, it remains to be seen how close they actually are to the treasure, and whether they can get to it before becoming hopelessly entangled in a web of clues that takes them deeper into the island’s history.
