The Detective Is Already Dead Episode 3 Spoilers

In episode 2, Kimihiko is approached by Nagisa Natsunagi. She thinks that he is the detective who solved all those cases and asks him to help her figure out who is she is looking for. She doesn’t know this person’s ethnicity, age, or gender, but she still feels a terrible longing for them. Kimihiko accepts the case as an assistant and deduces that Nagisa’s longing is connected to the heart transplant operation she had when she was younger. He tells a stunned Nagisa that the person she is looking for must have been close to the person to whom her heart originally belonged.

With the help of assistant inspector Kase Fuubi, they get access to Bat, whom Siesta and Kimihiko arrested four years ago. Bat immediately finds out who was the original owner of Nagisa’s heart by listening with his modified auditory senses. He extends one of his appendages toward Nagisa, and it just disintegrates, making Kimihiko realize that the heart was once Siesta’s. He tries to dismiss the entire thing as a coincidence. The episode ends as a younger girl with an eyepatch asks for his help. In episode 3, that new client might be revealed as a popular idol. She has likely reached out to Kimihiko to ask him to protect her and a family heirloom.
