The Flash Season 7 Episode 17 Recap
‘The Flash’ season 7 episode 17 is titled ‘Heart of the Matter, Part 1.’ It opens in Central City 2049 and gives us a look at a responsible Nora and an impulsive Bart fighting Godspeed. They realize that they were fighting a clone and the real Godspeed escapes using the cosmic treadmill. In the present, Barry convinces his children to help him in his fight against Godspeed. Barry also tries to get Wally’s help but is unable to contact him. Meanwhile, Iris returns, and the Flash family heads to battle the Godspeed clones. The clones are drawn to Bart, who considers Godspeed his “Thawne.”
The Flash family fails to curb the clones, and they capture Jay Garrick, who has been trying to regain his speedster abilities. The clones demand Bart in exchange for Jay. Bart heads to face the clones but is knocked out. Barry and Nora save Bart and Jay with Cisco’s help. Chester and Allegra make progress on a device that can remove the clones’ powers. Determined to stop the Godspeed War and save Bart, who is in a comatose condition, Barry enters Heart’s mind with Cecile’s help. The two speedsters prepare to face off. The episode closes with Heart warning Barry about a devastating secret.
