What is The Great Christmas Light Fight About?

Producers pick contestants with the most compelling stories and holiday displays ahead of the show. Each of the holiday-themed displays is individually featured before the expert judges as they review them. The awe-inspiring holiday displays across the country are judged based on three parameters: the use of lights, overall design, and the Christmas spirit. After being reviewed, the judges announce the winners, and the winner of each week’s episode wins $50,000 and the holiday-themed Light Fight Trophy.

There are a few things that the producers ensure before selecting the contestants. One of them is that the contestants must have a familial relationship, which could even include best friends and significant others. They should not have people who are paid to help them set up their display. The emotional angle is an essential feature of the show, which is why the story of each family is also considered apart from their holiday displays. The eighth season will follow the footsteps of the seasons preceding it to bring us another joyful set of episodes well in time for Christmas.
