Netflix’s ‘The Kissing Booth series’ follows the story of a teenager named Elle Evans. Her simple life gets caught up in a series of complications when she falls in love with Noah Flynn, who is the elder brother of her best-friend, Lee. Balancing her relationship with the Flynn brothers proves to be very difficult for her as, time and again, she is forced to choose between them. ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ ends on another similar dilemma for her. What will she choose this time? What does the future hold for Elle? The ending clearly means that there has to be another part in ‘The Kissing Booth series’. The question is: when will it come out and what will it entail? Here’s all you should know about ‘The Kissing Booth 3’.

The Kissing Booth 3 Release Date

‘The Kissing Booth 2’ released on Netflix on July 24, 2020. Much like its predecessor, it was not received well critically. However, the good news for the fans is that Netflix relies on the reception of the audience to decide whether it wants to go forward with a sequel.

Once again, the movie was loved by audiences, and to the surprise of the fans, Netflix revealed that they had already greenlit a third part. Not just that, the movie has already been filmed, but it was done in secret, pretty much with the second film. ‘The Kissing Booth 3’ is set to release on Netflix in the summer of 2021. 

The Kissing Booth 3 Cast: Who’s in it?

‘The Kissing Booth series’ stars Joey King in the lead role. She plays the character of Elle, who is best friends with Lee and falls in love with his brother, Noah. The roles of Noah and Lee are played by Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney, respectively. Meganne Young plays the role of Rachel, Lee’s love interest. In the sequel, Taylor Zakhar Perez joins the cast as Marco, another of Elle’s potential love interests.

For the third part, we expect all of these actors to reprise their roles. Molly Ringwald is also expected to come back as Mrs Flynn. Because the next part will take Elle and Lee to college, we also expect new characters to be added to the story.

The Kissing Booth 3 Plot: What can it be about?

‘The Kissing Booth 2’ leaves the story on a cliffhanger where Elle is forced to, again, choose between Noah and Lee. The college that she decides for herself will also dictate the nature of her relationship with the Flynn brothers. In the third film, we expect to get an answer to her dilemma. What is more important for her, and how will her decision affect her life?

The first two movies closely follow the plot of the novels on which they are based. Considering this, we would expect the third one to follow suit, but there isn’t exactly a third novel yet. Beth Reekles wrote a sequel to ‘The Kissing Booth 2’, but it is more of a short story than a full-length novel. ‘The Kissing Booth: Road Trip!’, as its name suggests, has Elle on a road trip from LA to Harvard with Lee. ‘The Kissing Booth 3’ might cover that arc, but it will need a lot more material to answer the burning questions that ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ has left us with.
