The Mysterious Benedict Society Episode 5 Recap

In the fifth episode of ‘The Mysterious Benedict Society’ titled ‘The Art of Conveyance and Round-Trippery,’ Reynie and Sticky slip into their new well-tailored costumes as the first day of duty awaits. In the meantime, Jackson and Jillson are now aware of Mr. Benedict’s morse code signals sent from the shore, and the kids immediately consult their teacher about the same.

Ms. Perumal walks into the camp and learns about the secret operation the kids are involved in. Reynie and Sticky gain access inside the tower, where they meet Mr. Curtain working on a machine called ‘The Whisperer,’ As Kate toils away at tetherball, Constance tries to place the location of the secret entrance to the tower. The former is thrilled now that they’re one step ahead, and together, they crack the code of the location. In the tower, Curtain’s device mesmerizes Reynie and Sticky, who instinctively begin to mouth incomprehensible phrases, perhaps associated with ‘The Emergency.’

Perumal is astonished at the dysfunctional ways of the institute and resolves to find a way to put an end to this, but Benedict advises her not to underestimate Curtain and ‘The Emergency.’ He is also concerned about the safety of the kids, so he requests Rhonda, Number Two, and Milligan to remove them from the operation. Curtain is dangerously close to actualizing his mission and is seconds away from rigging up ‘The Whisperer.’ Despite Ms. Perumal’s efforts to complain to the authorities, she receives an automated response that refuses to offer any help.
