The Planets and Beyond documentary TV series tells us about the various individual planets in our solar system. The first season debuted in 2017 on Science Channel. The main cast of this documentary series is Michael J. Massimino who is a former astronaut of NASA. Viewers can enjoy and learn about every planet and take an in-depth look at the theories. He now hosts this show and presents the closest neighboring planets and other celestial bodies in the solar system. He guides and provides information on planets like Mars, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Exoplanets as well as the newly discovered Plane 9.

This documentary series also explores the sun, the Milky Way and other alien planets that various scientists have uncovered in the past 20 years. The former astronaut Massimino has completed four spacewalks and two missions in the Hubble Space Telescope successfully. It has also been declared that he is the first human being to tweet from space. He has now become one of the famous bestselling authors in the New York Times. Now he is a public speaker, Senior Space Advisor to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and a media personality. Due to his unique perspective on things and sheer hard work, he is a professor at Columbia University.

The team for the previous seasons included a series of names: Dellums is the Narrator, Dan Durda is Planetary Scientist, Mike Massimino is a former Astronaut and Host, Hakeem Oluseyi is the Astrophysicist, Jani Radebaugh is the Planetary Scientist, Erik Asphaug is the Planetary Scientist, Michelle Thaller is an Astronomer, Nina Lanza is a Planetary Scientist, Phil Plait is an Astronomer and Sean C. Soloman is a Messenger Principal Investigator. Undoubtedly, Michael J. Massimino can be expected to return as the host of the next season along with the majority of the cast.

The Planets and Beyond Season 3 Plot: What is it about?

In the previous season, the host took an in-depth look at the solar system. In one of the episodes, Mike Massimino talks about the origin of aliens on earth and about our solar systems. He also talks about some deadly aliens that co-exist outside as well as inside our solar system. Mike explores some of the dwarfs planets of the solar system that includes Pluto. Such planets are very small to actually be called as planets but hold numerous secrets. Mike also discovers the strange birth of our solar system and how each planet was formed after a huge collision. Mike throws light on how life was formed on earth and why alien visitors are responsible for the birth of living beings on earth. He also talks about the nature of comets in our solar system. Mike also takes us to the moons of various planets in our solar system and also explores if there would be life beyond earth.

The Planets and Beyond Season 3 Release Date: When will it premiere?

The third season for The Planets and Beyond is not yet renewed. There are chances for the renewal of the show to happen in 2018. We will update this section as we know more about the air date for the upcoming season. Till then stay tuned!
