Preview: The Simpsons S31 E16

‘The Simpsons’ is the most popular show on Fox’s ‘Animation Domination’ lineup. In fact, it is one of the most popular shows out there. Hence, the ‘Animation Domination’ slate of programming by Fox that showcases various adult animated sitcoms every Sunday would have felt quite incomplete without the inclusion of ‘The Simpsons.’

Instantly recognizable by the yellow skin color of its characters, ‘The Simpsons’ follows a suburban family living in the fictional town of Springfield. Homer Simpson leads the family. Other than the family members, the series has done a great job in developing minor characters and giving them some notable screentime frequently. The town of Springfield has become a place that viewers would easily feel connected to because of that.

The Simpsons Season 31 Episode 15 Recap:

The fifteenth episode of the thirty-first season of ‘The Simpsons’ takes another jab at technology, which has been a prominent theme this season. The episode starts with a parody of the true-crime documentary. The show-within-show documentary is set in “Killville, Wisconsin,” which is depicted to be an almost lawless place. The parody segment ends with an innocent man being possibly thrown into jail.

Then, the episode moves onto its main plot arc: Marge decides to make the family limit the time they spend on their phones. Lisa suggests the family converse. However, the rest of the family members laugh it off. Despite Marge being the proponent of the idea, she is the one who has the biggest problem with her social media presence. The family, on the other hand, embrace their time off-screen.

It is Marge who cannot control herself and takes the family to a rehab center. Towards the end of the episode, the family comes to the conclusion that technology is not too bad. They escape the rehab center.
