Created and written by bestselling novelist Sarah-Kate Lynch (‘Blessed Are the Cheesemakers’), ‘The Sounds’ is a psychological mystery drama series that follows a Canadian couple who travels halfway around the world to settle in the idyllic haven of Pelorus Sound in New Zealand. However, things get twisted once the husband goes missing.
The show premiered on Acorn TV for the US audience and was instantly branded as a riveting relationship drama and a multilayered thriller. Fans even drew comparisons to ‘Ozark,’ ‘Big Little Lies,’ and ‘The Affair.’ Now that its inaugural outing has wrapped up, let’s get to the details of ‘The Sounds’ season 2!
The Sounds Season 2 Release Date:
‘The Sounds’ season 1 premiered on Thursday, September 3, 2020, on Acorn TV, with two back-to-back episodes. It then released its third episode on September 7, 2020, following which new episodes dropped every Monday. The season concluded with its eighth episode on October 12, 2020. In Canada, the show is available on CBC, and in New Zealand, it airs on Neon.
In the season 1 finale, ‘The Sounds’ wraps up the entire mystery, giving us all the answers. This was expected since the thriller had been dubbed as a mini-series right from its inception. Therefore, in all likelihood, there will be no extension of this particular storyline. As of now, it is unlikely that The Sounds’ season 2 will ever get made.
