Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Episode 9 Recap

Right at the beginning of the ninth episode, Yashiro gets kidnapped to have some tea with Sakura. After they meet, both of them just sit and complain about the contacts they’ve made so far. However, it turns out that Sakura was just warming up to her with this conversation and she soon finds herself chained down to a chair and being thrown underwater. She soon discovers that she is being dumped into the place of “nowhere” that can lead her to any possible destination. This mysterious place can take her to infinitely many doors in the world leading to any possible space or time.

Along with her, even Natsuhiko gets dragged in and together, they discover all the possible doors that they can. With Hanako guiding them through radio, they open doors to many different worlds with the intention of finding their way back. In the next moment, Natsuhiko gets mysteriously dragged into another doorway while Yashiro manages to find the door that is marked as the school’s homeroom. But instead of leading her back to her school, this door takes her to the past where Hanako is still young and is sitting alone in a classroom. After crying for a while, Hanako quickly gets out of there but while leaving, he ends up dropping a rocket keychain.

As soon as she picks up the keychain, Hanako spots her. After returning back to the girls’ washroom, Hanako warmly welcomes her back to the real world and even apologizes for spoiling all the donuts that she had gifted him earlier. In the meantime, Yashiro chooses to keep the key a secret in order to find a way to protect him. The ninth episode also has an interesting post-credits scene in which Tsukasa aggressively draws and speaks to figure that looks a lot like Mitsuba. And what’s disturbing about it is that this figure seems to have been drawn out of Tsukasa’s blood.
