What is True Colors About?
With an aim to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month 2020 (September 15, 2020, to October 15, 2020), ‘True Colors’ is a novel attempt from Peacock to give us an unfiltered look into the inspiring life journeys of notable Hispanic leaders. Narrated in English, the series allows us to experience the rich Latino culture first-hand. It traces the contribution and the rise to success of the featured individuals who had a hard time reaching where they are now. Especially in the United States, which was, for several years, dominated by Caucasians, making it difficult for Latino residents to climb the ladder to the top.
Of course, times have changed now, and we have diversity in almost every field. But the aim of ‘True Colors’ is to shed light on those particular people who had to face more failures and struggles to achieve their dreams. Peter Blacker, Executive Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Innovation, Telemundo, explained in a press release as to why he is so excited to launch ‘True Colors.’ He said, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Peacock on this exciting and innovative new series during Hispanic Heritage Month. These intimate stories highlight Hispanic leaders with fresh and motivating perspectives for our bilingual and multicultural audiences.”
Jen Brown, SVP of Topical Programming and Development for Peacock, added: “Peacock is proud to add True Colors to our Peacock Originals library during this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month. We believe all audiences will connect with these inspirational stories from trailblazers and thought leaders in the Hispanic community.” Muralist Jonas Never has also created several works of art as a part of ‘True Colors’ — which chronicle the journeys of Hispanic thought-leaders from humble beginnings to larger-than-life successes.
