When Will Vanderpump Rules Season 9 Release on Bravo?

Vanderpump Rules Season 9

Bravo’s reality juggernaut ‘Vanderpump Rules’ has been satiating the appetite of genre fans by producing unadulterated entertainment since its premiere on January 7, 2013. The offshoot of the hit series ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’ focuses on the personal and professional lives of the employees at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR in Robertson Boulevard, West Hollywood.

Despite receiving flak from the critics for the lack of diversity and needlessly aggressive fights between the staff, the reality series has amassed a cult following, which has paved the way for it to spawn eight seasons. Season 8 concluded recently and fans are wondering: Will there be a ‘Vanderpump Rules’ season 9? If yes, when will it release? Let’s find out!

Vanderpump Rules Season 9 Release Date

‘Vanderpump Rules’ season 8 premiered on Bravo on January 7, 2020, and concluded on June 16, 2020, after airing 24 episodes, including three virtual reunion episodes and a special episode, featuring unseen footage from the season.

As far as another season is concerned, the network is yet to announce the cancellation or renewal of the reality series. However, fans would agree that after the highly explosive eighth season, a ninth season renewal seems like a no-brainer. Although season 8 started with a slight dip in the ratings and viewership, towards the end, the show managed to score a dramatic rise, averaging over 2 million total views per episode, proving the fact that the fans are still invested in the lives of the employees of SUR. Therefore, whenever it gets renewed, we can expect ‘Vanderpump Rules’ season 9 to release sometime in 2021, on Bravo.

Vanderpump Rules Season 9 Cast: Who is in it?

In the wake of multiple firings by the network, there’s going to be a massive change in the main cast of the ninth season. Longtime cast members Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder have been fired for filing a false case of criminal theft against former cast member Faith Stowers, which came to light when Stowers opened up about the issue on an Instagram live session with Candace Rice on June 2, 2020.

Additionally, Bravo announced that even Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning for another season after their tweets containing racist references resurfaced on Twitter.

The returning cast for season 9 can include Lisa Vanderpump, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Tom Schwartz, Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, Ariana Madix, James Kennedy, Lala Kent, Beau Clark, and Dayna Kathan, among others. Danica Dow, Charli Burnett, Raquel Leviss, Jeremy Madix, Peter Madrigal, and Ken Todd might also return to the series in season 9.

What can Vanderpump Rules Season 9 be about?

The show puts the spotlight on the daily lives of the staff at SUR, a high-end restaurant that is co-owned and designed by Lisa Vanderpump. Located in the heart of West Hollywood, the restaurant attracts a young crowd because of its ambiance, attentive service by the staff, and sumptuous international cuisine. The dramatic eighth season finale is packed with interpersonal clashes between the employees. To celebrate the first anniversary of Sandoval and Schwartz’s restaurant TomTom, Lisa throws a big bash but things go awry when personal issues get discussed.

Kristen confronts Katie and Stassi for cutting ties with her despite knowing that she is fresh off a breakup with Carter. When Lisa asks Jax to talk to Sandoval about their feud and decide the fate of their drowning friendship, he gets very aggressive and ends up vexing Lisa by calling ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ “my show.” Max is slammed for his womanizing ways, while Danica gets thrown out for pushing Karrah before she can poke her nose in Stassi and Ariana’s business. Lala finally manages to get James and Randall to have “the talk.”

In the ninth season, we can expect the show to continue documenting the complex lives of the SUR employees and their volatile interpersonal dynamics. Jax might continue to put his pugnacious attitude on full display, which can lead to fights with his wife, Brittany Cartwright. With Kristen and Stassi out of the picture, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the cast members adjust to their absence.
