Vincent Edward Scully was born on November 29, 1927 in The Bronx, New York City and is a 90-year old American retired sportscaster, sports commentator, journalist and voice Actor. He was born to parents Vincent Aloysius who was a silk salesman and his mother, Bridget, who was a Roman Catholic homemaker. He was brought up in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. He attended the Fordham Prep in the Bronx for some time and realized his love for baseball at an early age of 8 and wanted to become a Sports announcer.
In his childhood, for quite some time he worked to deliver beer and mail, pushed garment racks and also cleaned silver in a Hotel in New York City. He is known by nicknames ‘The Voice of the Dodgers’ and ‘Vinny’. He served the United States Navy for a period of two years, and while he was doing his majors in English at Fordham University, he started his career as a student broadcaster and journalist. While at Fordham he co-founded the FM radio station WFUV and was assistant sports editor for Volume 28 of “The Fordham Ram”
