If you follow this website, you already know that how eagerly we are awaiting ‘The Revenant’, Alejandro González Iñárritu’s follow-up to Oscar winning ‘Birdman’. ‘The Revenant’ is also leading our Oscar predictions, and after this spectacular trailer, our belief that Iñárritu is going to win back-to-back Best Picture Oscar just got firmer. And also aiming for back-to-back Oscars will be Chivo, aka Emanneul Lubezki, whose cinematography just looks magical. Yup, yet again. But I am pretty sure, our readers are more worried about whether Leonardo DiCaprio is finally going to win the long due Oscar. Well, we will have to wait for that to be answered, but this trailer does show that his role has the potential to floor everyone, including the Academy.
Plot: Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT captures one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.
