I know many people didn’t like ‘Prometheus’. But I did .. a lot. Contrary to popular perceptions, ‘Prometheus’ is not just an adventure-in-space film; it is so much more. Peel the outer layer of the film and you will find that it plays around with so many concepts: creationism, evolution, spirituality, God. In any case, even if you didn’t like ‘Prometheus’, there’s no reason to be not excited for its sequel: ‘Alien: Covenant’. Ridley Scott very cleverly has distances this film from Prometheus and taken it to closer to his cult hit: ‘Alien’.
Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce, will return in their roles from Prometheus, with newcomers Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir and James Franco also co-starring. The film is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017.
Here’s the plot of the film: Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant find what they believe to be an uncharted paradise. What the crew discover is a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
