Watch: The Awesome First Trailer of ‘Justice League’

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official Justice League teaser trailer at the ongoing Comic Con. From what it seems like, the release was totally unexpected.

Here’s the summary of the plot of the film:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of meta-humans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Here’s the full list of the cast members and the roles each of them are playing:

Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne / Batman: A billionaire socialite and owner of Wayne Enterprises who dedicates himself to protecting Gotham City from its criminal underworld as a highly trained, masked vigilante.

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman: A Kryptonian survivor and journalist for the Daily Planet with superhuman abilities. On February 5, 2016, Cavill announced on social media that he had already started exercising for the film in advance of principal photography.

Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman: An Amazonian warrior princess and daughter of Zeus.

Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash: A Central City police forensic investigator who can move at superhuman speeds, with his ability to tap into the Speed Force.

Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman: The king of the undersea nation of Atlantis, whose metahuman abilities originate from his Atlantean physiology.

Ray Fisher as Victor Stone / Cyborg: A former college athlete who, after being cybernetically reconstructed with a Mother Box after a near-fatal accident, has powers that allow him to manipulate technology and teleport.

Amy Adams as Lois Lane: A reporter for the Daily Planet and love interest of Clark Kent / Superman.

J. K. Simmons as James Gordon: The Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department and close ally of Batman.

Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth: Bruce Wayne’s chief of security, butler, and trusted confidant.

Amber Heard as Mera: The queen of the undersea nation of Atlantis and Aquaman’s love interest.

Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko: An Atlantean politician and longtime adviser to Aquaman.

Additionally, it was revealed that Steppenwolf will appear in the film. Steppenwolf is charged with hunting down the three Mother Boxes on Earth, located in Atlantis, Themyscira, and one that is now a part of the character Cyborg.

Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as the corrupt businessman Lex Luthor.

Directed by Zack Snyder (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Justice League will debut in theaters on November 10, 2017.

The trailer looks good. It certainly doesn’t look as heavy and serious as ‘Batman v Superman’. I think Zack Snyder learnt his lesson that trying to be Nolan-ish may not be his cup of tea, and therefore, decided to go lighter and funnier than his previous two films. And I have to say, from the looks of the trailer, his idea seems like working.

Synder confirmed this when he mentioned this in an interview:

“Justice League is going to appeal to a younger audience. Justice League is much more inclusive. I think also you have these two very young characters, Flash and Cyborg. And you know, they’re definitely lighter. I think they’re going to appeal to a younger audience.”
