‘Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki’ is a cute series of shorts, which is targeted to the niche audience of Nagoya. This anime not only offers some good slice-of-life themes but also gives you a glimpse of a unique subculture. Its story is pretty generic and for today’s standards, even its animation quality isn’t all that great.
However, considering the fact that it has been created by relatively smaller studios, one can tell that a lot of effort has been put into its animation as well. The best thing about it is its 3-minute runtime which allows you to watch it anytime you want. That being said, if you have been watching this anime all this while and you’re wondering if it will ever return with its third season, here’s everything you need to know.
Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki Season 3 Release Date: When will it premiere?
‘Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki’ season 1 premiered on April 4, 2019 and with a total of 12 episodes, it finished airing on June 20, 2019. It was then followed by a second season which aired from January 5, 2020 to March 22, 2020. Now ‘Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki’ isn’t as popular as most mainstream anime out there but it still has a loyal fan following of its own. And if we consider the fact it that has been created by lesser-known Studios that only have a few other anime under their belt, it is a possibility that it will be renewed for season 3.
Moreover, although its source only has 7 volumes at the moment, it is still in publication and might get a few more volumes in the future. Being an anime short with each episode only lasting for 3 minutes, the creators of the anime don’t really need a lot of content for creating a whole new season. So if the writer of the manga is able to produce 2 more volumes of the source within the next one year, ‘Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki’ season 3 will release sometime in April 2021.
If there is a third season we can expect cast member Haruka Tomatsu to return as Monaka Yatogame, Yūki Wakai as Mai Tadakusa, Mikako Komatsu as Yanna Sasatsu, Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Kaito Jin, and Hisako Tōjō as Hanka Jin. Hisayoshi Hirasawa will also return as the director of the series and Satsuki Hayasaka will handle the designs of the characters. Apart from that Creators in Pack and Saetta Studios will again animate the show.

Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki Plot
Kaito Jin is a young high school student who grows up in Tokyo. He later ends up moving to Nagoya and that’s when he meets Monaka Yatogame for the first time. Unlike him, Monaka is no ordinary girl as she always carries her Nagoya dialect quite boldly and always maintains her cat-like appearance. With the kind of outlook she carries all the time, will she ever open up to Kaito Jin?
