10. Johnny Gaddar (2007)
‘Johnny Gaddar’ was a neo-noir thriller directed the by exceptional Sriram Raghavan. Neil Nitin Mukesh might not be a big name right now, but in this debut film he gives us his best performance till date. The film has excellent characters and cast including Dharmendra, Zakir Hussain, Rimi Sen, Vinay Pathak, Govind Namdeo, Dayanand Shetty and Ashwini Kalsekar. A perfect script, a perfect crime. This film deserves a sequel big time.
9. Khosla ka Ghosla (2006)
‘Khosla ka Ghosla’ was the directional debut of Dibakar Banerjee. Comedy comes out of tragedy. Khosla family newly bought land is encroached by a corrupt businessman, what follows next is superb fun. This film is an out and out laugh riot. We would certainly love a sequel and a return of Boman Irani’s evil Kishen Khurana harassing more people and a similar laugh riot.
8. Jaane bhi do yaaro (1983)
Kundan Shah’s ‘Jaane bhi do Yaaro’ is a cult classic film in all its right. Such a movie is rarely made. The film was almost perfection. It has a stellar cast of Bollywood legends such as Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah, Satish Kaushik, Bhakti Barve and Neena Gupta. It might be the most difficult thing to make a sequel to this cult classic keeping in mind “lighting does not strike the same place twice”. But if someone did decide to make a sequel and if it’s even close to the original, it’s a win for everyone.
7. PK (2014)
Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘PK’ was a massive success. With Aamir Khan in one his quirky role, playing a humanoid alien. It was an amazing family entertainer with subtle messages. With the way the movie ended, one does hope that we get to see a sequel soon. No sequels are planned but this is one movie that everyone would like to watch a sequel of.
6. Delhi Belly (2011)
A black comedy full of toilet jokes (literally). This is one crazy film. A brash out and out entertainer starred Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Vir Das, Poorna Jagannathan and Shenaz Treasurywala. The story revolves around gangster, a misplaced package and Kunaal Roy Kapur’s tummy issues. The movie certainly has the capacity to spawn out a sequel and why not! Such movies don’t come often.
