Chicago Fire Season 8 Episode 18 Recap:

The 18th episode of Chicago Fire season 8 brings a devastating twist. We all know from the previous episodes how Sylvie Brett was dealing with emotional conflicts after the arrival of her birth mum Julie. Julie had also revealed that she was pregnant and after reconsidering, Sylvie had decided to reconnect with her biological, long-lost mother.

When the episode begins, Sylvie confides to Julie that she would like to be a part of the upcoming baby’s life. Sylvie is determined to be with her family even after the arrival of Julie’s husband. Of course, Julie is happy and tells Sylvie that all of them would celebrate their big move to Chicago. Even Julie had all along wanted to be closer to her daughter. But when they are having this conversation, Julie starts getting contractions.

Sylvie immediately takes Julie to the hospital and admits her there. The case has several complications because of which the doctors decide to do an emergency C-section. And tragically, Julie loses her life on the operation table because of losing too much blood. The baby is however fine. Sylvie is shocked and when she learns that the baby is alive, she does not know what to do. Casey, who is also there to give support, asks her to go and see the infant. Sylvie picks up her half-sibling and as she holds it in her arms, there are tears streaming down her face.
