15 Flop Bollywood Movies With Great Music

10. Anwar (2007)

For any music lover, the name Anwar will be one of the first names to pop in their mind when it comes to good Sufi music.Mithoon and Pankaj Awasthi made the music for this film and did not let us down. Roop Kumar Rathod lent his voice to the brilliantly sung ‘Maula Mere Maula’, one of the most well-made Sufi songs in the last decade. Pity that the movie didn’t live upto the standards of the music.

9. Hamari Adhuri Kahani (2015)

This movie was a sobfest, just so depressing right from the start and till the end, which was heart-breaking. But the soundtrack of this movie was just so brilliant that once you hear it you will revisit it again and again. Arijit Singh’s title track Hamari Adhuri Kahani, is heart-wrenching and is bound to move you to tears. So was Humnava sung so well by Papon, one of my favourite singers at present. ‘Hasi’ by Ami Mishra is very soulful and makes this soundtrack very memorable. Though the songs of the movie are quite sad and depressing, they have this charm that the movie quite evidently lacked.

8. Refugee (2000)

J.P Dutta’s action drama film marking the debuts of Abhishek Bachchan as well as Kareena Kapoor was quite a flop at the BO.Though it launched the career for two of these star kids, the movie was quite melodramatic and lengthy. However, Anu Malik’s music was magical. In fact he won a National award for Best Music Direction. Though the soundtrack was filled with one memorable song after another, one that stood out for me was ‘Panchhi Nadiyan Pawan Ke Jhonke’ which was really melodious and pleasant to the ears, thanks to the lovely music and Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam’s soulful voices.

7. Yaadein (2001)

This Subhash Ghai magnum opus, a musical drama, something Ghai excels at.It had a brilliant cast but just couldn’t make good use of it thanks to a poor plotline and laughable character development. But the music is still in our memories unlike the movie.Again, Anu Malik does a good job. The title track by Hari Haran evokes a myriad of emotions within us. The other songs too were a hit amongst the audience like Jab Dil Mile and Alaap.

6. Kismat Konnection (2008)

Yes, Atif Aslam is one of the greatest singers in my opinion. His voice adds that touch to an ordinary song and makes the song stick with you for eternity. This movie too he doesn’t fail to let us down. The song Bakhuda Tum Hi Ho is one of the most romantic songs I’ve heard in recent times and is bound to make you smile as you think about your loved one.Mohit Chauhan’s Is This Love is a super sweet song and the chemistry the actors had in this song was actually really nice. It’s a shame that this chemistry wasn’t there throughout the movie, which was quite mediocre, though it had its heart in the right place.
