Tim Burton’s adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s fantasy novel, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ won 2 Oscars for Best Art Direction & Best Costume Design. It went on to collect $1 billion at box office becoming the fifth-highest grossing movie of all time during its theatrical run. 7. Crash (2004)
Surpassing all fellow nominees such as Ang Lee’s heart crashing ‘Brokeback Mountain’, Bennet Miller’s ‘Capote’, George Clooney’s historical drama ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ & Steven Speilberg’s impressive spy-thriller ‘Munich’, ‘Crash’ won Best Picture, shocking everyone in audience in hall and on TV. Dealing with “racism”, Crash is considered one of the finest movies on the sensitive issue. Though a critical success, it isn’t loved by everyone…
8. Pearl Harbour (2001)
Directed by Michael Bay, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, starring Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett & Kate Beckinsale and recreating the sorrowful attack on Pearl Harbour Naval Fleet during WW-II. The movie was nominated for 6 Golden Raspberries, but it won Best Sound Editing Award at the Oscars ceremony. The movie was a critical failure but a commercial success, becoming the third-highest grossing romantic drama of all time. But as the movie was a blunder of historical inaccuracies and really bad acting performances, it disappointed a lot of people.

9. Argo (2012)
‘Argo’ surpassed likes of ‘Amour’, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, ‘Lincoln’, and ‘Life of Pi’ to win the Best Picture Oscar. Starring Ben Affleck as CIA Agent Tony Mendez, Argo was based on “Canadian Caper”, a rescue mission of six U.S. diplomats from Tehran. Ben also served as director winning a BAFTA for the same, but still, not all were happy with it…
10. Les Misérables (2012)
Winner of 3 Oscars, ‘Les Misérables’ was the first musical to be nominated for Best Picture since ‘Chicago’ (2002) until ‘La La Land’ (2016). Not to mention it had an ensemble cast led by Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. The movie was a great critical and commercial success and was a box office hit.

But he watched the movie and did an in-depth research…but hated it in the end
