16. Lakshya (2004)
The coming-of-age story of an aimless young lad, who goes on to become an army officer, successfully finding his true calling and also an aim in life was the central topic of Farhan Akhtar’s Hrithik Roshan-starrer ‘Lakshya’. We would want Hollywood to remake the film, which was daringly different.
17. Koshish (1972)
The story of a deaf-mute couple, who despite their ostracization lives a dignified life, overcomes problems and pains of living in an insensitive society; ‘Koshish’ was a movie, which was greatly appreciated back in the day. We want Hollywood to remake a film with an issue like this, which would depict the struggles of differently-abled people and how the society deals with their efforts in leading a normal life.
18. Sadma (1983)
This Sridevi, Kamal Hassan-starrer was the story of a girl, who meets with an accident and develops retrograde amnesia, and is later taken care of by a kind-hearted school teacher in Ooty. We would want the West to depict the subtle love story between a woman-child and an adult man, complete with the climax, which brought tears to our eyes!
19. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)
The whacky tale of two strangers-turned-friends, who are contesting to win the affection of a rich, young heiress, only to end up with a series of goof-ups and hitches, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ was a movie, which we enjoy even to this day. We really want Hollywood to make a movie as silly as this one and show us their ridiculously frivolous side!
20. Khakee (2004)
This smartly-scripted action thriller, which had one convict, being transported by a team of five cops to Mumbai for trial, and the facts that they unravel enroute their journey, was a movie that the audiences enjoyed greatly for the lead actors’ performance and the screenplay that kept them on the edge of their seats. We want Hollywood to remake a film like ‘Khakee’, which is sure to win over the audiences in the west too!
