6. John McClane – Die Hard Series (1988 – 2013)
Salman Khan is basically Bruce Willis with some extra hair. The looks, the physique, the attitude are all similar. A fit Salman Khan can easily portray John McClane. Action is Salman’s strong suite. Going against all odds and defeating the antagonist is what Salman does for a living. ‘Die Hard’ has everything Salman can do, so why not?
5. Forrest Gump – Forrest Gump (1994)
Before ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, now one, even in their wildest fantasies, would think Salman can pull off ‘Forrest Gump’. But he proved us all wrong. He might not portray the character on par with the legend Tom Hanks. But he will deliver a convincing performance with a style and charisma of his own. The innocent and gullible Gump has many similarities with Bajrangi, and that will help.
4. Xander Cage – XXX Series (2002 – Present)
Overwhelming action, girls, cars are all characteristics of Salman Khan. The man is absolutely perfect to play Xander Cage, the extreme sportsman. Performing an undercover operation to stop the antagonist from destroying a city is something Salman Khan can perform while he’s asleep. This is the kind of movie that Salman Khan fans crave for. Salman’s XXX will be a sure-shot Eid blockbuster.
3. Bryan Mills – The Taken Series (2008 – 2014)
Salman may not know who you are, but what he has are a very specific set of skills. His daughter is taken away. This situation is not an uncommon experience for him. But when it comes to his own daughter, can he hold his nerve? Of course he can, he’s Salman Khan. He’ll find you, and he’ll kill you. Don’t have any doubts about that. That being said, there’s no denying the fact that Liam Neesham is one of a kind. But then again, so is Salman Khan.
2. Rocky – The Rocky Series (1976 – 1990)
‘Rocky’ is basically just a rip off from ‘Sultan’. A small time wrestler gets once in a lifetime opportunity to win against a world champion. This is Salman Khan’s bread and butter. On a serious note though, a touch of logic and reality could’ve worked wonders for ‘Sultan’. Salman Khan gives an honest performance. It’s not a far-fetched target for him to pull of ‘Rocky’.
1. Dominic Toretto – Fast And Furious Series (2001 – Present)
As a “Desi Indian boy” watching The Fast and Furious Series since my childhood, I had only one perception of Vin Diesel’s portrayal of the protagonist Dominic Toretto, “BHAI”. And who is that sort of “BHAI” in Bollywood? Imagine Salman Khan saying “You removed your foot from the tiger’s neck…” and giving monologues on importance of family. Absolutely perfect!
