6. Mathew Goode – Leap Year (2010)
Mathew Goode must have hated this romantic comedy so much. This movie is as bad as the actor claim it to be, certainly would even come close to bagging the worst movie of 2010 title even where there are a plethora of strong contenders. Was it sheer ignorance of the effort of everyone behind the movie that prompted Mathew Goode to go on record and say that ‘Leap Year’ was a bad job. Had these interviews happened before the release and imagine what a field day tabloids would have had. The actor also refused to take part in a promotional radio show and even said that he wouldn’t have taken the script if the shooting wasn’t near his house.
5. Burt Reynolds – Boogie Nights (1997)
Thanks to Hollywood’s super active grapevine, Burt Reynolds’ hate for Paul Thomas Anderson’s final cut of ‘Boogie Nights’ is a widely popular. Burt Reynolds: how could you hate this sweet drama? ‘Boogie Nights’ is one of the best movies of Paul Thomas Anderson, so it is surprising that Burt hated the film so much. Burt Reynolds was so unhappy with the movie that he kicked out his agent for making him act in this movie, a role for which he won an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
4. Megan Fox – Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen (2009)
Well, it wouldn’t be accurate to put this movie as Megan Fox didn’t go on public and abused the movie, however she did say something interesting which may add up to sabotaging own movie. Megan Fox, during promotional events, is reported to have said that this movie is for geniuses. Later, the actor went on public to say that she said it because she didn’t understand the movie, honesty at its epitome. However, she was very critical of the director Michael Bay and is reported to have asked an interviewer how come he doesn’t have a migraine after watching the movie in IMAX, pretty subtle.
3. Charlize Theron – Reindeer Games (2000)
She was just adding up to the widespread negative reviews raked in by ‘Reindeer Games’. This should be counted as honesty since it might have saved few audience from watching this terrible flick. Charlize Theron doesn’t beat around the bush and explicitly states that ‘Reindeer Games’ was not a good movie. In fact, she wasn’t crucified for her opinion as the rest of the world had pretty much the same opinion on the movie.
2. Edward Norton – The Incredible Hulk (2008)
The war between Edward Norton and Marvel became a common talk when Mark Ruffalo was signed to play Hulk in the upcoming sequels. So why did Edward Norton hate ‘The Incredible Hulk’? The actor is quite famous for his “attention to detail”. Initially, he showed no interest to play a superhero but joined on board when Marvel agreed to hire a screenwriter who would work with Edward Norton and let him develop his vision for The Hulk. Marvel did keep their words but shortly before production Edward Norton realised that the entire shoot was planned according to some other script and he would not have much creative control over the final project. This obviously annoyed Edward Norton and he went public about his disagreement with Marvel about ‘The Incredible Hulk’.
1. Leonardo DiCaprio – Don’s Plum (1995)
If there is one movie that Leonardo DiCaprio wants to forget in his career it is ‘Don’s Plum’. The Oscar-winning actor is reported to have said that it was a lack of maturity that made him do this movie. It was one among the poor Independent filmmaking attempts that became popular in Hollywood due to its lead actors, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. The producer of the movie filed a complaint against both Tobey Mcguire and DiCaprio for carrying out widespread campaigns to prevent the release of the film. The actors claim that the movie was pitched as a short film but turning it into a feature film was a breach of trust. Although, the movie would have been passed on as an amateur attempt by both actors but they decided to sabotage it and tried to stop it from releasing.
