Aaron Paul Teases ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Image with Bryan Cranston

Aaron Paul has revealed a cryptic image that hints at a ‘Breaking Bad’ movie on his Twitter and Instagram on Tuesday. The photo, which came with the caption “Even Sooner,” shows Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul crossing a muddy creek with shoes in their hands. Last week, the actor revealed another cryptic image of two mules along with the caption “Soon.” Interestingly, Cranston posted the same tweets at the same time on his social media platforms.

Reports of a possible stand-alone film based on AMC’s cult Western drama series ‘Breaking Bad‘ surfaced in 2018 under the working title, ‘Greenbrier.’ In November 2018, Deadline reported that a ‘Breaking Bad’ movie is in the works with iconic characters from the series, Jesse Pinkman and Walter White in the lead. Though the details of the project are kept under the hood, the upcoming movie reportedly centers on the life of Jesse Pinkman after the events of the AMC series in 2013.

The Deadline report also revealed that the ‘Breaking Bad’ movie is written and directed by Vince Gilligan who served as the creator of the AMC series. He has been reportedly working on the feature project for some time now. According to rumor mills, the plot of the upcoming movie will “track the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.” If the plot is set after the events in the series, the speculators also conclude that the man must be Jesse Pinkman.

Cranston confirmed in November about the existence of a film project but didn’t divulge anything more. Set against the characteristic backdrop of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series chronicles the life of a disheartened high school teacher Walter White (Bryan Cranston) after he is diagnosed with lung cancer. Along with his former student and friend Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), White plunges into the criminal underworld of the drug cartels as a trader to secure his family’s financial future after his death. But the duo has to navigate through the hostile crime haven where danger lurks in every corner.

Other cast includes of Walter’s wife Skyler (Anna Gunn), son Walter, Jr. (RJ Mitte), daughter Holly (Elanor Anne Wenrich), Skyler’s sister Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt), her husband and DEA agent Hank (Dean Norris), Walter’s lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), the private eye Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), and the drug cartel boss Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito).

‘Breaking Bad’ debuted on AMC in January 2008 and ran for five seasons until September 2013. High Bridge Entertainment, Gran Via Productions and Sony Pictures Television produced the series for AMC. Netflix has reportedly locked a deal with AMC to stream the upcoming movie before it comes to the network.
