3. Arrested Development (2003-2006, 2013-present)
While not being one of the central characters of the show, Poehler’s character was definitely unforgettable. The first reason being, no one knew her name. Presented as Gob’s (played by Will Arnett) wife, she played the role of an eccentric seal salesperson. Her marriage with Gob was due to a dare that she went through with. However, Gob (hence, the audience) never got to know her name, out of sheer disinterest. Smartly written and accurately portrayed, this character was a cakewalk for Poehler.

The show was a turning point in her career, as it provided a strong platform for her to experiment different things and polish her skills. She portrayed various made-up characters and was also applauded for her impressions of celebrities like Hillary Clinton, Julia Roberts, Pamela Anderson, Kim Jong-II, and many more.
1. Parks and Recreation (2009-2015)
This show might not have been the best comedy, but it was a good comedy, nevertheless. The show that was a home to actors like Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, and Aubrey Plaza, was centered around a construction pit that creates a debate in the society. Amy Poehler played the leading role of Leslie Knope who is a deputy director at the Parks and Recreation Department. When a man falls into the pit and breaks his legs, his girlfriend demands the pit be leveled. Knope decides to convert it into a park, but it is easier said than done. The politics and the people are in her way.
