5. Get Hard
Darnell Lewis (Kevin Hart) is employed by James King (Will Ferrell) to help him prepare for prison life when convicted falsely. The spectacle is quite hilarious with genuine comedy thrown around in bits and pieces. Ferrell is his usual comic self while Kevin Dart is amazingly fresh. The movie has its moments and provides good satire.
4. The Night Before
As friends Issac (Seth Rogen), Ethan (Gordon-Levitt) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) prepare for the Christmas holidays unexpected news hits them. The movie brilliantly balances each friend’s personal journey with the boisterous adventure intact at the core. Michael Shannon who plays their drug dealer steals the show in this stoner movie.
3. Trainwreck
Amy (Amy Schumer), a commitment-phobic magazine writer finds herself in a mess when she starts to fall for Dr. Aaron (Bill Hader) in this directorial venture of Judd Apatow. Monogamy was never an option for Amy and this promiscuous comedy packed with pop-cultural references is also filled with social critique. The brilliant Schumer is hilarious as usual packing a punch with her flawless comic timings.
2. Minions
The adorably cunning minions are back. Having lost their evil lord, the minions are on a mission to find a new master when they come across Scarlett Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock). The movie gave an insight into the journey of the adorable minions. The animation is beyond words and explores a new narrative.
1. Inside Out
Quite an amazing film that explores the workings of our emotions and what goes inside our head. Riley (Voiced by Kaitlyn Dias) is a young girl who moves to Minnesota with her parents but when her happy emotions get stuck in a remote part of the brain. It was a unique movie with a completely different concept that stayed in our hearts for a long time.
