If there’s one thing absolutely nobody can deny, it’s that although Denny Hamlin comes across as rather brash, there are two things he has always genuinely cared about: his family and racing. This much is actually even evident in Netflix’s ‘NASCAR: Full Speed,’ especially with the way it briefly explores how this driver navigates all aspects of his personal and professional experiences. So now, if you simply wish to learn more about his long-term relationship with Jordan Fish — focusing on both their many years together as well as their current standing — here’s what we know.
Denny and Jordan’s Journey
It was reportedly back in 2007 when pro stock car racer Denny first came across then-York Technical College student Jordan at a Charlotte Bobcats NBA game, only for them to later fall in love. Though the latter wasn’t a mere spectator — the former was watching from courtside since he’s a big fan of basketball too, yet she was there doing her job as a Bobcats Lady Cat (aka cheerleader). In fact, this soon-to-be East Carolina University Communication/Public Relations student was a part of their dance team for two seasons until 2010, a year before she purportedly graduated.
“The best thing about [being a cheerleader] was I got to do what I love to do — dance and perform…,” Jordan once said. “The fact that I met Denny through there — it’s a special story. It was cool how we met.” However, this duo didn’t immediately get together; he’d shown interest by making indirect contact through her friends, but they didn’t really click because she was already interested in someone else. But alas, things changed after around six months or so while this newly single dancer was attempting the Miss South Carolina USA pageant and had to get a sponsorship to proceed with her true aspirations.
Jordan has candidly revealed, “My friend was like, ‘Why don’t you get that NASCAR driver who likes you to sponsor you in the pageant.’ I said, ‘That’s a great idea!’ So I called him and said, ‘Would you want to sponsor me?’ and he’s like, ‘Sure!’ I said, ‘How about I’ll take you to dinner as a thank you?’… That’s what we did, we went to dinner. I had such a good time with him that I didn’t even care if I got the sponsorship money at that point. When we hugged, I had butterflies in my stomach. It was the first time we hugged. And so then he runs in the house and gets me a check for my sponsorship — it was so sweet.”
Denny and Jordan were then inseparable, especially as they realistically knew things would get a lot more complicated once she returned to school and he began working again, which it indeed did. “I remember him asking me to be his girlfriend the day before I left for college,” she expressed in 2012. “It was hard our first six months or so. I was driving back and forth every weekend, 3-4 hour drive each time. The only time I could see him was on the weekend and that’s when he was working. We broke up a couple of times because it was way too hard..”
Yet, this couple always found their way back to one another within days as there was a sense of mutual care, kindness, love, and respect between them, enabling them to trudge forward. It thus comes as no surprise Jordan then went on to land an Archive Assistant post at NASCAR to consistently be there for Denny (2011-2013), all the while also establishing herself as a model. Then came their decision to move in together, shortly following which they gladly welcomed two beautiful daughters into their lives; Taylor on January 20, 2013, and Molly on August 15, 2017.
Denny and Jordan Are Still Together
Denny and Jordan honestly seemed to be a near-idealistic couple despite having a few personal issues here and there, that is, until 2021, when the latter came forward to announce they’d parted ways. In a series of since-deleted social media posts, this WheelHouse Media Project Coordinator and pickleball enthusiast had clearly indicated he was an utterly unsuitable partner as well as father. “I have been quiet for too long…,” she reportedly wrote, according to The New York Post. “I have endured things no one person should EVER have to endure and today was no exception. @dennyhamlin I hope everyone will finally see you for the person you truly are.”
In another post, Jordan ostensibly added, “Myself and our children deserve better than what you have given. I cannot believe I ever thought that someone like you could change. Because you cannot. You have a long road ahead of you, and one I graciously no longer will be apart of. Have a great life.” She never really specified precisely what Denny did, yet there have been unconfirmed speculations of infidelity from his side, which ultimately became too much for this mother of two.
However, following some time apart where they both grew, Denny and Jordan reconciled in 2023 — she was not only seen at many of his races, but their little family also celebrated Halloween together. In fact, they were in a couple’s costume; he was dressed up as Kansas City Chief’s Tight End Travis Kelce, whereas she was emulating music phenomenon Taylor Swift. Moreover, and more importantly, they recently got engaged; as seen above, they actually kickstarted 2024 with their engagement, and we honestly can’t wait to see what’s next for this devoted duo.
