Geoffrey Ian Paschel: Where is the Convict Now?

Netflix’s ‘Worst Ex Ever: Primetime Predator’ chronicles the violence and abuse inflicted by actor and reality TV star Geoffrey Ian Paschel towards his fiancée, Kristen Wilson Chapman. His former wives also accused him of instances of physical abuse during their respective marriages. The history of violence soon caught up with Geoffrey when Kristen managed to escape from his clutches and got the police involved. Through insightful interviews, the documentary provides a detailed account of Geoffrey’s crimes over the decades.

Geoffrey Ian Paschel Kept His Criminal Past Hidden From His Fiancée

Born on September 12, 1977, Geoffrey Ian Paschel was 18 years old when he married for the first time. After the marriage ended in annulment within months, he reportedly met Sabrina Grigsby at a Halloween party in 1996 in Greenback, Tennessee. As they got closer with time, the two tied the knot on April 1, 1998. During their marriage, Geoffrey reportedly got involved in illicit drugs. He was arrested in June 2000 for possessing large quantities of marijuana and cocaine. By 2000, the couple had given birth to two children. In June of the same year, he was busted for possessing five pounds of pot and a couple of ounces of cocaine.

According to reports, on July 13, 2001, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, for which he received a 30-month imprisonment sentence. After serving two years, Geoffrey was released from prison in July 2003. Soon, after eight years of marriage, he and Sabrina divorced. Following the divorce, he married twice more — Allison in 2007 and Brittany in 2015. By December 2017, he had become single again and had appeared on various crime shows in minor roles. That’s when he met Kristen Wilson Chapman on a dating app. As per Kristen, he told her about his ex-wife, Brittany, and his two children.

While they were dating, she became suspicious about him and dug into his past life, only to find out about his other marriages, allegations of child neglect and abuse made by his exes, and an official criminal record that included assault and drug-related crimes. At the time, he also had his two sons, Paxton and Dakota, whom he shared with Sabrina, living in the basement of his house. In March 2018, after his youngest son tragically passed away, Geoffrey started becoming violent and volatile towards Kristen. Since she was head-over-heels in love with him, she ignored all the red flags. The following year, in March 2019, the couple visited his family in Destin, Florida, where he proposed, and they got engaged. Everything appeared to be going great for the two until they returned from having dinner outside on June 8, 2019.

Geoffrey Ian Paschel Physically Assaulted His Fiancée in His Knoxville Home

On the night of June 8, 2019, Kristen went outside to walk their dog after returning home in the Rocky Hill area of West Knoxville from dinner. As she walked back into the house, Geoffrey attacked her and repeatedly smashed her head into the floor. During the assault, he also reportedly took her phone away and didn’t allow her to leave the residence. After the extreme assault, he instructed her to freshen up and go to bed. When he was fast asleep, Kristen ran out to one of her neighbors and asked her to call 911 for her. As the authorities arrived at the neighbor’s house, Kristen alleged that Geoffrey had physically assaulted her. They noticed many abrasions and bruises on different areas of her body. She was also diagnosed with a concussion and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The officers then headed to Geoffrey’s home around 3 am on June 9. He claimed that she had attacked him and alleged that she had hit herself and smashed her head against the wall. Although he was taken into custody that night, he got bailed out the next day. While Kristen filed an order of protection against him, he reportedly went to Russia to shoot the fourth season of ’90 Days Fiance: Before the 90 Days.’ In Russia, he met Varya for the first time, after chatting with her online for months, and got engaged to her. A few months later, on December 10, 2019, Geoffrey was charged with aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency communications in connection with the violent episode between him and Kristen.

Geoffrey Ian Paschel is Currently Incarcerated at a Tennessee Prison Facility

After declining the plea deal, Geoffrey Ian Paschel stood trial for the physical assault of Kristen Wilson Chapman, starting on October 6, 2021. On the second day of the trial, the defendant took the stand and testified that all of Kristen’s wounds and bruises were self-inflicted. Despite his defense, the jury deliberated for a few hours and returned with a guilty verdict. Thus, on October 7, he was convicted of all the charges against him, including aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls.

About four months later, on February 3, 2022, his sentencing hearing took place. During the hearing, his ex-wife, Allison, took the stand and testified against him, highlighting all the instances of abuse she endured at Geoffrey’s hands during their marriage. In order to get a long-term sentence, the prosecution also presented all the other convictions he had in his rap sheet, including possession of drugs and drug trafficking. Despite his pleas to show him mercy and give him a lesser sentence, the judge sentenced him to 18 years in prison without the possibility of parole.

Throughout the court proceedings, his fiancée, Varya, consistently supported him. Not long after his conviction, he and his defense counsel filed a motion to get his conviction overturned and get his sentence reduced. In September 2023, his appeal was denied by the Tennessee Court of Appeals. In the following months, Geoffrey filed a couple more appeals in vain, only to be denied again. In January 2026, he reportedly had oral arguments for an appeal in court. As of today, the 48-year-old convict is serving his sentence at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Facility in Hartsville, Tennessee, with his release date scheduled for December 2037.
