2. Call of the Wild (2020)

‘Call of the Wild’ is an upcoming American live-action CGI-animated adventure film based on Jack London’s 1903 novel of the same name. The film is directed by Chris Sanders, written by Michael Green, and stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford, and Omar Sy. It will be released by 20th Century Fox. The film is about a domesticated St. Bernard/Scotch Collie dog named Buck who is stolen from his Santa Clara, California home and sold to freight haulers in the Yukon.

In October 2017, it was announced that 20th Century Fox was developing the film adaptation of the Jack London’s 1903 novel ‘The Call of the Wild’, set in Yukon around 1890s about the Klondike Gold Rush, which would be directed by Chris Sanders from the script by Michael Green, and would be produced by Erwin Stoff. In July 2018, Harrison Ford and Dan Stevens were cast in the film, with Ford set to star as John Thornton, who goes on the hunt for gold. The film would have heavy special effects work from its studio Technoprops. In August 2018, Colin Woodell joined the cast. In September, Omar Sy and Karen Gillan were added to the cast. In October, Bradley Whitford joined the cast, with Cara Gee joining in November. The movie is slated to be released on February 21, 2020.

1. Untitled Indiana Jones Project (2021)

Harrison Ford will reprise his iconic role as Indiana Jones in a sequel that currently does not have a title but will be directed once again by Steven Spielberg, with franchise creator George Lucas on board as executive producer. With the film currently scheduled to hit theaters July 9, 2021, Spielberg revealed that filming will officially begin on the fifth Indiana Jones movie in April 2019 in the U.K.

“It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the U.K.,” he said. “The actor, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here.” As for the content of the story, franchise producer Frank Marshall has indicated that the fifth movie will be a continuation of the events following the ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, rather than any sort of reboot or prequel.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019)

‘The Secret Life of Pets 2’ is an American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination. It is directed by Chris Renaud and written by Brian Lynch, and is a sequel to the 2016 film ‘The Secret Life of Pets‘. Most of the cast members have reprised their roles except for Louis C.K., who has been replaced by Patton Oswalt. Additional cast members include Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll, Pete Holmes, and Harrison Ford.

The film continues the story of Max and his pet friends, following their secret lives after their owners leave them for work or school each day.

On August 2, 2016, Universal Pictures and Illumination announced a sequel to the 2016 animated film ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ with director Chris Renaud and writer Brian Lynch returning. Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy have produced the film. In November 2017, it was announced that Louis C.K. would not be reprising his role as Max after being accused of and later admitting to sexual misconduct with five women. In April 2018, it was announced that Patton Oswalt had replaced C.K. as Max while Hart, Stonestreet, Slate, Kemper, Bell, Carvey, Buress, and Moynihan reprised their roles. The film was released on June 7, 2019, by Universal Pictures.
