Miguel, Angelic Gonzalez, Jayden Baez, and Anthony Boothe Were Found Dead in Their Cleveland Home

Miguel Gonzalez

Born to Maria and Emiterio Gonzalez on June 10, 1953, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Miguel “Angel” Gonzalez was raised among his 10 siblings, including Genaro, Maria, Carmen, Miguel, Augustina, Pedro, Luis, Maximina, Enrique, and Jose. At some point, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he was in a relationship with Carmel Solis. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Angelic Gonzalez, into the world on December 14, 1988. The couple also took care of Carmel’s son, Martin Muniz, from a previous relationship. Besides Martin, Angelic also had other siblings with whom she grew up — David Muñiz, Martin Muñiz, Sergio Muñiz, and Serafin “Cuchy” Solis. At 18, she was in a relationship with Kalif Baez when she gave birth to their son, Jayden Baez, on September 23, 2006, in Chicago, Illinois.

Anthony Boothe

Later, she parted ways with Kalif and started a family of her own with her husband, Anthony “Tony” Boothe, with whom she welcomed a daughter, Eyana Boothe. Born on January 11, 1975, in Jamaica, Anthony was the beloved son of Leanorah Barnett and brother of Mark, Dave, Oneil, Richard, Brian, Nadine, and Loretta. After moving to the States for a fresh start, he met with the love of his life, Angelic. Since he could fix cars and other things, he was considered a go-to guy for everything. Besides being a devoted husband to her and a doting father to Eyana, he also treated Jayden like one of his own. While studying at Albert Einstein Academy in Lakewood, Jayden also practiced martial arts with the Junior Guardian Martial Arts program.

Jayden Baez

Miguel, Angelic, Anthony, Jayden, and Eyana lived together in the 3700 block of Mack Court in Cleveland, Ohio. Their lives were suddenly turned upside down on the evening of January 13, 2023. When the authorities received a tip about possible violence at the house, they rushed to the site and found 69-year-old Miguel, 34-year-old Angelic, and 16-year-old Jayden dead. Meanwhile, 48-year-old Anthony and the then 8-year-old Eyana, who were in critical condition, were rushed to the MetroHealth Medical Center. Unfortunately, Anthony succumbed to his injuries the following day, on January 14, 2023. The autopsy revealed that all the deceased individuals died of gunshot wounds.

The Killer Made a Chilling Confession Right After Committing the Gruesome Murders

Minutes after the quadruple homicide, a cop car was flagged down by Miguel’s stepson and Angelic’s brother, Martin Muniz, who asked the officers to handcuff him after admitting to killing his sister and her family members. That’s when the police discovered the gruesome crime scene and the deceased family. Martin was immediately taken into custody and interviewed at the police station. Elaborating on his crimes, the suspect told the detectives that he killed the family because they allegedly didn’t treat him right. He had previously served time in prison and had been living in the basement of Angelic’s home for a couple of months.

Before that, he claimed that he moved around, living in Texas, New Jersey, and Illinois. After months of taking the alleged insults from Angelic and her husband, Martin admitted that he decided to kill them that night. In his detailed confession, he claimed that he shot Anthony first before shooting Angelic in their room. He then shot his niece, Eyana, in the neck because he didn’t want to kill her. After shooting Jayden in the head, Martin then went upstairs and shot Miguel to death. He told the investigators that he returned downstairs to shoot Anthony and Angelic once again.

Martin also admitted to killing another man named Jaime Molina on October 13, 2013, in North Gate Park in New Jersey. As per reports, on December 13, 2013, he was arrested for being in possession of the weapon used to kill Jaime, but he couldn’t be linked to the homicide. After the interrogation, Martin was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted murder, eight counts of murder, ten counts of felonious assault, and one count of having weapons under disability.

Martin Muniz is Currently Incarcerated at an Ohio Prison

Initially, Martin Muniz pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. But later, on August 22, 2024, he pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted aggravated murder. Each of the charges carried three-year gun specifications. At his hearing, when the family members of the deceased were reading their victim impact statements, Martin expressed his frustration and exclaimed, “I don’t want to hear this ****.” After trying to stop his outbursts, the judge sent him out of the courtroom when he couldn’t be contained.

Consequently, he received four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, with an additional 15 years in prison for the murder conviction. For the attempted aggravated murder conviction, he was sentenced to 11 to 16 and a half years in prison, to be served consecutively to the life terms. The 44-year-old killer has been formally charged with the murder of Jaime Molina and is awaiting trial while serving his sentence at Trumbull Correctional Institution in Trumbull County, Ohio.
