12 Most Powerful Marvel Characters

6. Galactus

The Devourer of Worlds is a being who existed even before our Universe was created. So it would not be wrong to say that he is one of the most influential characters of the Marvel Universe. Galactus needs to eat entire planets to sustain himself and has tried to devour the Earth on several occasions. Fantastic Four and other Avengers have been instrumental with the help of Silver Surfer, in evading and banishing Galactus everytime he has tried to destroy Earth. Still, Galactus is one of the most formidable foes of the Marvel superheroes. He controls the Power Cosmic which gives him abilities that surpass those of beings like Thanos or Adam Warlock. In an even battle where Thanos does not wield the Infinity Stones, Galactus can easily defeat the Mad Titan.

5. Dark Phoenix

Dark Phoenix is an avatar of the immortal manifestation of all life and passion called the Phoenix force. During a space expedition, the telepath Jean Grey absorbed the Pheonix force and became the mutant known as Dark Phoenix. In her Dark Phoenix form, Jean taps into the energy of the Phoenix Force and becomes one of the most powerful beings in the universe. In that form, Jean is even more powerful than Galactus and can defeat Thanos in a straight-on fight. As Phoenix force is a cosmic entity far older and powerful than the Mad-Titan which manifests itself in the minds of omega-level mutants like Jean Grey, it has many abilities that surpass imagination. The Dark Phoenix will be soon seen in action in the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix, starring Sophie Turner.

4. Franklin Richards

Franklin Benjamin Richards is the son of Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman. Along with being the apple of the eye of the Fantastic Four, Franklin Richards is considered to be the most powerful character of Marvel comics, barring the Celestials of course. Franklin was destined to be a great superhero, but sadly his immense powers came with a bane. Due to his limitless abilities which include creating and destroying whole universes on his own, project enormous psionic energy and warp reality itself, he has been used many times by supervillains against the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. So instead of becoming a full-fledged superhero, this dear son of Mr Fantastic ended up becoming just a tool to introduce twists to mainstream Marvel plots.

3. Legion

Many characters on this list are worthy of being here either because of their near-limitless powers or the fact that they are omega level mutants or beyond. Although David Haller or Legion has the power to warp reality, that’s not the reason he is one of the strongest Marvel characters. It is because this mutant son of Professor Xavier can divide his psyche into many personalities that can have their own mutant powers. Till date, the mind of Legion houses atleast 200 omega level mutants and other unclassified entities. Although this gives Legion a near unchallenged position in the Marvel Universe, due to his deteriorating mental condition and the fact that only one of the personality can exist in total control at a time, he is not as well-known as his father or other members of X-Men.

2. Living Tribunal

An all-powerful cosmic entity that exists beyond the Multiverse, Living Tribunal is the voice of justice and reason for all universes of the Marvel Comics. Living Tribunal has the power to manipulate reality, and as such the difficult job to maintain order in the Multiverse. Living Tribunal has been encountered several times by Marvel characters like Iron Man, Thanos, and Adam Warlock while he was doing his aforementioned duty. It might be a long shot, but Living Tribunal as a character can be called upon to restore the lost balance of the Universe in the second part of Avengers: Infinity War. It makes sense because his powers are far above and beyond the Infinity Gems. Let’s hope he makes an appearance.

1. One-Above-All

You might be thinking what Stan Lee’s photo is doing on top of this list. Well, the most powerful being in the Marvel Comic Universe is a cosmic entity called the One-Above-All. He is truly omnipotent and omniscient with his power spanning across the entire multiverse. He can will whole universes into existence and is even above the ultra-powerful Living Tribunal. And there have been very strong inclinations that being the co-creator of most of the Marvel characters, One-Above-All actually describes the personality and real-life powers of Stan Lee. So let’s not piss off Stan, yes?
